Hang in there Ex! You are doing great, not smoking thru this. As we get older, we realize that death is part of living, but its pretty tough to teach that to a 19 or 20 year old. My thoughts are with you, having been there, it will feel better once the funerals are done, a bit of closure!

Just an update:
Well I feel like I've had one long solid crave since the accident happened. This week we attented one of the funerals and tomorrow we have the other one.
I have not caved but the desire for a cigarette has been quite intense. I know this is pure association and this last 2 weeks has been so extreme, emotionally that it's no surprise the way I've been feeling.
I am really hoping things will settle down a bit next week - I just have to ride this one out till it's over, but wow, it's hard...

Ex Roller,
Glad to see you standing firm in your resolve and kudos on reaching for new coping skills instead of old ones :)

Ex-Roller, sorry I missed this one. Such as sad loss of life at such a young age. Hope you keep it together. You already know that smoking won't help so I shan't bother with that.
Best wishes to you and your son in this time of sadness.

You have my thoughts and prayers. We had something like that happen a few years ago. It was the first time a faimly memeber experience a death of a close one. As parents it tears our hearts out when we see our own go though grief. Being young I believe they feel it so much more. As a parent we try to stay strong for them, while we do our griefing in the back ground. You are doing very well. May the arms of the Great Comforter embrace you and yours.
Keep the Quit
