Thank you Casey the tests are very helpful but I this anxiety is not a new thing I have been in and out of counselling and on and off meds. I have chosen to deal with this on my own and try to understand the root of my thinking. The program looks great! I started my first session yesterday and I will continue to do one a week. I will keep in touch. Cheers to Brighter Days Ahead :)

Hi Tara, Welcome to the site. Please don't ever feel you have to apologise for long posts - sometimes they are necessary for you to share your experiences, emotions etc. As Katie said - You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When youre finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Be sure to post often and let us know how everything is going. Casey _____________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

Dear Katie, Thank you your words are very encouraging you sound alot like me. I dream of moving away to a new city with my bf to start "fresh" without all the small town stigmas although I fear that is just running from my problems. I also need to work in order to save money to live on my own which is harder than it sounds. I am so proud of you for going out for dinner! That is great! I am so glad I came to this site and you have been a great help I d like to keep in touch with you too. I have tried meds but I want to take a non medicinal approach I am just so hooked on how I "used" to be before I got this problem that I think there is still some chance I might be that way again. I know that is not possible and I only lived 18yrs of my life carefree I guess the rest of my days will be spent differenly... Tara

Don't be so afraid. You have found people who understand what you're going through. As one of the specialists will probably tell you, "You've come to the right place." They're right. I've been dealing with my panic disorder for many years and have learned a lot about myself from it. Don't worry what others think. I guarantee you many people out there have the same disorder or know someone who does. I just moved to a new city with my husband. We've only been here a week. We were invited out to dinner with some people we didn't know last night. I was so uncomfortable, I almost didn't go, but I did. I'm glad, too. I met some new people and even revealed my panic disorder to a table of 8! No one thought it was unusual. They were all really positive. I guess what I'm trying to say is, talk to people about it and go see a doctor if you haven't already. If the doctor prescribes medication, try it. You might have a chemical imbalance that hasn't been diagnosed. I, too, don't drive or go anywhere alone, but I moved far away from my family for the first time in my life, and I'm OK. I wouldn't have believed it a month ago, but here I am! Things will get better. Also, don't worry about long posts. As you can see, a lot of us have the same "problem". It's a great way to get your thoughts out. Good luck and stay in touch. Katie :)Text

Hi Everyone, I am new at this and I am not sure if this is something someone has wrote about before but I suffer from Panic/Agoraphobia with Avoidance. I cry as I read over peoples entries bc I can relate. I am 20 and have been suffering for almost 2 years. As you know this is a very social time in most peoples lives and my anxiety and fear has made this impossible. I had to move home with my parents bc I can't even grocery shop alone. I have lost my licence bc of panic attacks that started in the car after a serious accident I had. I thought the panic would stay in car situations but it has spread to every aspect of my life. I feel I have got myself in a bad situation bc when ppl see me out they interrogate me bc they havent seen me out and attention is the LAST thing I want on me. I have got myself in a rut. I live in a small town and I feel like everyone thinks something is wrong with me, I used to be a social butterfly. I know I shouldn't care about what other ppl think but this disorder has done a number on my self esteem. I feel like everyone else is better than me. Does anyone have any suggestions or inspirational stories bc I really need them right now??? Thanks for reading since this is only my first one I promise no more will be this long!
