Don't be so afraid. You have found people who understand what you're going through. As one of the specialists will probably tell you, "You've come to the right place." They're right. I've been dealing with my panic disorder for many years and have learned a lot about myself from it. Don't worry what others think. I guarantee you many people out there have the same disorder or know someone who does. I just moved to a new city with my husband. We've only been here a week. We were invited out to dinner with some people we didn't know last night. I was so uncomfortable, I almost didn't go, but I did. I'm glad, too. I met some new people and even revealed my panic disorder to a table of 8! No one thought it was unusual. They were all really positive. I guess what I'm trying to say is, talk to people about it and go see a doctor if you haven't already. If the doctor prescribes medication, try it. You might have a chemical imbalance that hasn't been diagnosed. I, too, don't drive or go anywhere alone, but I moved far away from my family for the first time in my life, and I'm OK. I wouldn't have believed it a month ago, but here I am! Things will get better. Also, don't worry about long posts. As you can see, a lot of us have the same "problem". It's a great way to get your thoughts out. Good luck and stay in touch.
