The mental addiction/triggers are definitely the hardest for me. When I get that horrible restless feeling, I regroup in my mind, take a deep breath, tell myself that I am at peace and that I am okay if I do not smoke. It usually helps with the anxiety associated with mental withdrawals. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,040 Amount Saved: $425.00 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 17 Mins: 0 Seconds: 14

Stickin, I agree. I think it's perfectly okay to say "I'm a little scared, but I have succeeded at lots of things in the past, and I can do this too..." or "Whew, this is rough, but I CAN DO THIS!" When we doubt ourselves, we lose our strength. An important factor to quit and remain quit is the mindset. Your resolve must be started with I am capable continue with I have no doubts, and I can do whatever I choose to do. Down deep inside, you have to know and believe that you can do whatever you choose to do. It must be very difficult fighting smoking desires for any length of time. The thoughts do and will past if you believe in yourself. Yes I do, and mostcertainly can!
