Bold we have all been where you are - just keep reaching out, and when you get a crave, post and then wait for 10 replies okay, just read read read and hang tough. You can do this. We know you can. Days 14,15,16.... we pure heck for me. It is not the family stress that is getting to you, it is that darn monster. Now ask yourself will the situation with your family change if you smoke. Now ask yourself if you do not smoke, who has the power you or the monster. Beleive me I have been where you are right now and I gave in. It is so not worth it. Smoking will only add to the problems and then you have to start all over again. Remember the sweats, the skin crawling, nasty mood, pacing and on and on, remember? Do you really want to that all over again? I didn't thinks so. Hang in there. bold, i was looking for another old thread and ran across this post by you from August 1
those thoughts like having just 1 would be ok type thinking is what made me fail the first couple quit attempts, but I will not let those nasty thoughts get to me this time I want to live a smokefree life
You can live a smoke fee life..you've been doing it for two weeks. Maybe it would be helpful to review some of the Junkie Thinking threads? bold the stress will still be there whether you smoke or not. Judging by what others have said, when they smoked in response to stress they felt worse, not better. I would suggest you argue that thought away. Walking seems to have been working for you, so do that. Breathe, as JDK suggests...and post here asking for help before you cave. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 140 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,600 Amount Saved: $952.00 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 14 Mins: 20 Seconds: 44

There are all kinds of ways to deal with the stress bold, I walk mine off. Find something that works for you, I can't tell you how many times I fell off the wagon and got run over by it because I "had too much stuff going on". I have finally realized being a single dad, there is always going to be something going on, creating stress in my life. So we need to learn to deal with it and quit making excuses to have a smoke...it's not an option. Good luck bold. Boldinaz, There will never be a good time to quit. Stress is inevitable. It will always rear it's ugly head. Instead of debating why you're trying to quit, start strategizing on what you can do to help you cope with this stress. Relaxation techniques? Pleasant activity? Venting? Smoking is not an option anymore. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Hang in, bold. There are always going to be stressful & difficult situations in life. Non-smokers don't handle them by smoking & you are 14 days a non-smoker. Get your coping strategies back out, whatever worked at the beginning of your quit, & use them. Come here often to read & post if you want to. But absolutely ALWAYS post BEFORE you smoke. We will be here. Rusty said it! Besides, you have 14 days down--the absolutely WORST part of a quit. With hell and heck weeks out of the way and still fresh in your mind, you certainly wouldn't want to have to repeat them. Take a deep breath, tell yourself you DO NOT SMOKE, drink a long, slow glass of ice water, and face your problems head on. Take some time out now to plan how you will address any craves as they come. You can do it--you have been doing it for two weeks--and if you need some moral support, you know where to come. I promise you it will get easier. Sounds like the junkie you is working overtime. You know what? It's never a bad time to quit. It's ALWAYS a bad time to smoke. There will always be trials and tribulations in our lives popping in to mess up our little reverie, but smoking doesn't make them go away. It only makes us stink. And worse.
