I won't lie...I'm struggling!

Hiya Jan :) I hope u come back and see these supportive posts! This is my 1st time going through the quitting/slipping stuff and I know it's difficult :O I had to get right back to my quit b/c I was afraid that if I didn't I would get sucked into it again and who knows how long it would be before I quit. I want to be a non-smoker so bad again I can taste it, lol. I hate being a smoker and all that comes with it! So for me, since I still had the desire to try again I had to go for it. Whether I relapse or make it for a lifetime only time will tell. But either way I'm not smoking now and I that's my goal. If I relapse and have to try again or take some time off and re-group then that's fine but I couldn't see why if I wanted to try again I shouldn't, so I am :) It's been tough the last 2 days but I have friends that support me and have typed my butt off, lol. It's differen't for everyone, but the bottom line is that we are all addicts and in this together. Whether we're doing well or not we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect :) We are here to support you whenever you feel like popping in for support. Hope to see u soon :) Just breathe......ahhhhhhhh My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $14.40 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 14 Seconds: 50

Hi Jan! we all understand, because there are very few of us who quit once, we have all fallen at one time or another. So we know how it pains you. Keep on trying until you get it right, but regrouping is a good thing, because its not so easy to quit again after a bout of ups and downs, I know I had to wait about six months before I was good and sick of smoking again and then I had the determination to do it, but thats just me, we are all different. It will come, when you are ready it will come, believe that! In the mean time, don't worry about us, we are here for you no matter what. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 167 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,175 Amount Saved: $1,761.85 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 11 Mins: 44 Seconds: 8

how are you doing Jan? I know the stop/restart routine very well. I did it for 2 years, until this quit. Once you get the mental strength to quit again, protect that like a baby..you know the drill. Doubting that I could ever have the strength to go thru this again is part of what keeps me quit right now. You can break free from this addiction. Just do not EVER give yourself permission to smoke. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,040 Amount Saved: $425.00 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 18 Mins: 22 Seconds: 0

Bump ""I'm living with the critic from hell - ME! Maybe I need to regroup, rework the tools, and most of all, I think I need to be kinder to myself. After a while you get that you don't want to post when there's nothing positive to report. But here I am, laying it all on the line...I NEED HELP. I need to be here. I need all of you. Its not easy to write this...to tell you I'm smoking...AGAIN. But there, I did it...and I'm awfully glad I did." Jan's post say's it all. We are our worst critic. When we come in here for help, we should feel safe to be honest and be ourself. We shouldn't feel like we have to put on a front to please someone else.
