Could Celexa be worsening symptoms?

Hi Philosophypoe, I just wanted to say that you should be very careful about changing or trying to taper your own doses. I am not really formiliar with Celexa but I did the same thing several months ago with Zoloft & had to go back on it because I tried to taper myself way too fast. So next time you descide to lower your dose please get the advise of your dr. I honestly think that is the reason that I started having problems with panic again. I had cut my daily dose for a few days & when I started feeling anxious I started back to my normal dose but by then it was too late & my panic disorder seemed to be back full blown. Within about a week of being back on my Zoloft daily I started feeling better but it was about 4 weeks before I felt 100% again. I hope you are feeling better & hope to hear from you soon. Chanda

Philosophypoe, You have come to the right place! Please continue to share your thoughts with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you. We are all a group of individuals who support each other. We look forward to hearing more from you in the future. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. This may better help assess the sitiuation. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free". If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact Susanne or me at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialists for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Josie

Hello everyone, I am new here and I am glad to hear I am not the only one going through this. I first experienced panic attacks last april and was med free at the time; since I have been taking 20 mg of Celexa and Xanax when needed. From last July till this april I have been free on any anxiety attacks until one day in April out of the blue I started exeriencing them again. My MD has done all kinds of test and by now he sort of has had it with me saying I am going to die at any moment from a number of apparently illnesses that do not exist (only in my mind). I have a hard time accepting that panic attacks can cause what I go through and I think I must have a brain tumor, going to have a stroke or heart attack. I am also seeing a therapist and psychiatrist. On my own I had cut down to 10 mgs of Celexa a day and just a week ago I went back to the 20mg the doctor prescribed. Well last Saturday I started having panic attacks full force and today has been a horrible day, where I didn't think I could make it back from work and felt like jumping in a cab and going to the ER AGAIN! Any feedback or comments will be appreciated. V.
