That is the right attitude, cosmicsnail and Hadenough!! Keep posting, keep reading, and remember to protect your quit. Only you can do it for you, so don't use excuses like others are not helpful, etc. to keep you motivated. You do it for you!!! Being someone who is still relatively new in my quit, I understand more now about staying quit. Hi and welcome! You have come to the right place! I'm coming up on 2 weeks smoke free. One thing that helped me a lot was my Mantra. Before my quit date, every time I lit up I'd say to myself: I'm a non smoker. I will save over 200 dollars a month. My house won't stink. My car won't stink. I won't stink. My kitties might be more friendly. 3 days before my quit I stopped smoking in the car, then I stopped smoking in the house. I think it's important to psych yourself up before you quit. Now that I've quit, every time I get cravings, I say my mantra. It does seem to help Get your husband involved on this site as well and do the program "glove compartment" on the left. It really does help!!! Think positive! and welcome. Hi, I'm a newbie. For the past 2 weeks I've been making a rather pathetic attempt to quite smoking, but am determined to do it so tomorrow I will do it properly! My husband and I are trying for a baby and so I really want to give up before I fall pregnant. I also suffer from Crohn's disease and know how bad smoking is for it and have been told by my doctors that if I don't stop smoking, chances are that I will end up with a stoma in a few years time, really not something to look forward to! So there are at least 2 great reasons for me to pack in the ciggies, plus, no one seems to smoke anymore and I just find it embarassing now. My husband and I are going to stop together, so at least I will have support at home. Good luck to everyone else & keep up the good work!
