Lexapro....medication =Joint pain??

20 years ago 0 93 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Bygrace, I have joint pain quite frequently too. I take Zoloft instead of Lexapro. I am always having some kind of new pain in a different area. Legs, arms, chest, back, neck, you name it. I think it may be caused from the muscle tension associated with the panic and/or anxiety. I have been to the doctor about this and he didn't seem to think there was anything wrong. i just have to keep myself convinced that I dont need to worry about it. I catch myself tensing up alot, like clenching my jaws for example. Later on I notice that they are sore from it. Sometimes when I drive, I find myself clenching the steering wheel so tightly that my knucles are white and my forearms are aching. Do you think your pains might be from things like this? It took me a while to realize what was causing mine. Good luck, and hang in there. :) Sammi

Hi bygrace, I would suggest that you seek advice from your doctor and/or pharmacist regarding these concerns. In addition, you may wish to check out the following cite specific to lexapro. http://www.lexapro.com/home/default.asp?GID=5172&source=OverturePPC Looking forward to hearing from you again, Casey _____________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

Do any of you suffer from joint or muscle pain? aches and pains in your legs, joints, chest or such? I have these and wonder if it could be from the medication. I have taken Lexapro since January, and find that often (but not every day) I tend to have some sort of joint or muscle ache/pain. I did have some blood work and all is well, I just wonder if it could be a side effect? When I tried to wean myself (don't try it) the aches and pains were worse and got better when I returned to my normal dose. THings that make ya go "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"
