Bobbi, Sleep will no doubt affect your mood. Here are a few tips to help you get back on a regular schedule. Hope it helps! Try to get on a sleep schedule. Go to bed at a regular time each night and get up at a regular time in the morning. Try to not stay up late watching TV and try not to sleep during the day. If you get on a sleep schedule, we guarantee that youll begin to feel better. Try to make the room you sleep in as quiet as possible. Consider ear plugs or a sleep mask. Use your bed only for sleeping. Dont lounge around in your bed. If you spend too much time lounging in bed, watching T.V., drinking coffee, or eating, your body will learn that your bed is NOT a place for sleeping. If you cant sleep after half an hour in bed dont stay in bed trying to sleep. Get up and do some quiet activity. For example, read a book for a half hour and then try going back to bed. If you still cant sleep, get up and do something quiet once again. Try to keep your bedroom at a comfortable temperature - not too cold and not too hot. Try to get some exercise every day. Youll feel better and sleep will come much quicker. Try not to exercise or work hard late in the evening. It could make you feel wired. Dont drink anything with caffeine or alcohol for 4 hours before you go to bed. Try not to eat a heavy meal in the evening. Dont eat just before you go to bed. If youre not sleeping at night, avoid naps during the day. Use relaxation techniques. Box breathing may help you relax at bed time. Just dropping in to let everyone know how wonderful you all were to respond to my cry for help, and it sure does help just knowing other people care, can't fix it but do care! so far only had to wear the patch one day. Things in WA are up and down. My granddaughter here took her to dr. is her tonsils, or dr. thinks it is, she is doing better today, is amazing how she can take my mind off everything! still no smoke but oh so hard at times not to, and I do know it wouldn't help would just be one less thing to have to fight. BUT I will N.O.P.E. no matter what I will not smoke! Today I took nine shutters off my house, with 4 screws for each one, cleaned each, painted them, washed down the siding behind the shutters, sure alot of work, sure tired tonight, thanks again all you wonderful people!!!!!! hugs and prayers, Bobbi My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/27/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 86 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,580 Amount Saved: $215.00 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 13 Mins: 59 Seconds: 7

Hi Bobbi, Unfortunately life seems unfair many, many times. You will learn to deal with life situations without smoking, it just takes time. There are still times when bad things happen that the thought of smoking sounds like a solution. It isn't. Even if you smoked, none of your situations would change so it doesn't make much sense to light up. As our quits grow, so do we. Eventually, we dont think of running to the cigarette anymore but rather the new coping mechanisms we have developed. I grab a peppermint and it sounds like you walk. Whatever it takes, just don't smoke. I just said a quick prayer for you, your family and all that is going on. I hope the sun shines again soon. Bobbi, I just wanted to send you a couple of hugs, 'cause it sounds like a rough bit for you. I know the feeling, but you can make it!!! Alohakeia is right - the challenges would still be there, only you'd be smoking and feel bad about that, too. Go take care of your babies and keep looking out ahead...it makes the hard times a bit easier to get through. *hugs* My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 500 Amount Saved: $135.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 30 Seconds: 25

Oh, Bobbi, sorry I'm late but I'm here and I'm bringing hugs, TLC and Canadian beer (well, it can't hurt). I'm sending good thoughts to you & your family. Boo hoo all you want, we're happy to help & don't worry about using a patch for a little while. If that's what you had to do to shut the junkie up, then that's what you had to do. I can't say it better than those before me did. Re-visit your coping strategies, stay strong & remember that non-smokers don't smoke when they get stressed out.
