I think today is my fourth day being on Chantrix and no side effects as of yet. Maybe a bit more tired then anyother times. I noticed I get no satisfaction already from smoking so on the seventh I will be putting them down. This time for good.

Welcome back sotaman!
Another chantix success story here. Did have the wild dreams, looked forward to them in fact, and miss them now.
Always took pill with food...never any nausea. Didn't always drink the recommended glass FULL of water (to be honest, never did, I don't like water. Took it with my cup of tea!)
It is a wonderful quit aid, but I needed the support I found here to be totally successful.
Good luck...you can do it!

Thanks for all the kind words I am very excited to see how this works. I am kinda the guinie pig around here to try this. I took my first pill this morning. So I am under way to my journy of being smoke free. I was able to quite for about six months almost two years ago to the day. I still speak to a couple of people from this site that have made it for two years and I am very jeoulos of them. But this time I am going to make it.

Hi there and welcome back! I am on Chantix and I have found it to be very helpful. I had very vivid dreams at first, but I am someone who NEVER remembers dreams and they went away in a couple of weeks. But I found them to be enjoyable. The only problem I have had is when they say take with food they are NOT kidding. I got incredibly nauseated when I take it an a too empty stomach. I have to at least have some bread. It only lasts a few minutes, but they are intense minutes.
I also think it is just as if not more important to prepare mentally and really work on that side of things. I know a positive attitude helps as does learning about addiction and nicotine. I believe that has made a huge difference for me this time around.

Welcome Sotaman. I am using Chantix and it has been very helpful. I have had no real side effect issues other than it made me sleepy for the first couple of weeks I took it. It does cause you to have vivid and sometimes unusual dreams but they have been enjoyable for the most part.
You still have to want to quit and you still need to be prepared so make sure you have your coping plans in place. As a general statement I would say it cut my craves in half based on previous quit attempts but everyone is different. Maybe you will get even better results but I am very happy with the results I have gotten. I only have a few more days on the meds so I'll let you know how that goes. From others who have used Chantix the posts I have seen have been mostly favorable and no negative issues once they are finished.
Hope it works well for you. Keep us informed on how it's going.

Welcome Sotaman! So you've been here before and know the ropes, thats great! Prepare the way then. I quit using the patch, but someone will be along to tell you about their Chantix experience. Or you could search the posts using the word chantix!
Glad you are back! :)
