100 days ... I began this journey, the third one attempted, with a confidence and a determination not to fail. I could say that, with previous failures, I was more equipped to avoid the same pitfall that had hindered my earlier failures. This would not be an accurate statement. One truth I have learned on this journey to quit smoking is that I am never" more equipped". From the day we lit up our first cigarette, we began a life-long commitment to an addiction.
When I first arrived at this site, I was asked to fill-out information concerning my smoking habits. I did all the pre-quit activities asked of me. I was ready to begin this new life without cigarettes. I posted often, and read all of your inspirational stories. And then I failed. I failed because I am an addict.
I was equipped with the tools and I did not succeed.
So, my friends, I am at day 100. I wake up each day and I am thankful that I am not smoking. But I also know that this addiction will be at my side for the remainder of my life. At this point, I look to it as a challenge and I feel strong!! I wish all of you success with your quit and I am so happy that you are here to support me.
thanks for listeing,
sally
