pete,
I have read, re-read and then re-read again all of the posts on this thread including mine. Honestly, mine was probably the harshest of all of them, and I promise that it was said 100% to help you! I've been where you are, remember? I had 3 "slips" and while I never said that they were "good" reasons to smoke, I DID seriously contemplate going back to smoking for a month after my last slip (in October of 2005) in order to quit on the day that I started smoking 11 years earlier. To me, I thought that that was a "good" reason to go back to smoking... so I could make my quit date really special. I then realized how much the junkie had a hold of me and realized that that was just junkie thinking... even though I really liked the idea of quitting smoking on the 11 year anniversary of the day I started.
Here's what myself and everyone else is trying to get at... If you're still thinking that you had "good" reasons to smoke, then what's going to stop you the next time you have a "good" reason to smoke? That's my only concern.
If you leave the site for good, you are hurting nobody but yourself. You know, after 200+ days, that posting on this site really does help you in the early stages of your quit. So if you're really serious about quitting again, $@#^@& what everyone else thinks and stay here to get the support you NEED in order to remain smoke free. If you leave this site and go back to smoking, who have you hurt?
Crave the Quit!
