Sparky here ;p . Had a great day. In fact most of my days are good. I try and look at the postive and it helps a lot. When I live in the negitive that monster comes alive and I want him dead, dead, dead!!!!! He doesn't like it and he wants me to smoke  When I am grateful and thankful and full of joy, it drives him crazy LOL. So let's drive nuts, okay??? Hey everyone.. I am still here and still smoke free. Just been taking some "me" time. Haven't been on my pc till just now. Went to bed kinda early last night, and plan on doing the same again tonight. Sure feels good to sleep! LOL! Shakes, the meaning of "gaming mom"... Kinda funny actually. My kids love video games.. and even I game with them.. and without them also. LOL! One of my hobbies is gaming. Haven't had the time to game to much lately though... Jean, CONGRATS!!! 50 day!!! What did you reward yourself with? Great work!!! banana... I am in Alabama... So, don't think it is the same hospital. Sounds like our call in policy is about the same. We get 1 occurance each time we call in.. After 3 occurances we get a "verbal warning", after 6 occurances we get a "written warning", after 9 occurances we get a "final warning". Then on the 10th occurance we get our walking papers. Yes, the fires that we are suffering from are those in South Georgia and Florida. I am in central Alabama. Well, there is a tropical depression keeping the smoke "in" so to speak.. and the wind was just right to bring the smoke all the way here. We had more today and just on the news they said we could be in for more. It is really rough on everyone. Even those who have perfect respiratory systems are having difficulties breathing. I sure feel bad for the people down there with the fires!!! My headache is getting better. I think it is a combination of the smoke, stress and being tired. I feel better today. I woke up at 3AM this morning though. Couldn't get back to sleep. I guess it was after 4AM when I got back to sleep and my alarm goes off at 4:50. Made for a long day.. LOL! I will be heading to bed here in the next 20 minutes or so.... I hope everyone is doing good! Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the stats as much the past week. I have had a lot to do around the house this week. My parents are coming to visit this weekend and we have been cleaning and getting ready for company. I have had the kids cleaning out clothes that don't fit and all that good stuff. I will be around more again soon. Till then I will be sure to check in at least once a day... We are doing great Ashkickers!!! Good morning, we have another smog alert here in southern Ontario...& it's only May. :( It's suppose to hit a high of 32C today. I really hope it rains. Shakes, how's the throat? I work at a hospital too & what LouP says is true...& I don't think it's the same hospital ;p We are allowed to call in UP TO 3 days a year, after that we're flagged & the interrogations (ahem, meetings) start. Some people show up so sick because they are afraid to call in. I've got your life vest ready. Jean has hers on & she looks lovely...she can't move but she looks fab ;p Shakes, we are saving you a spot on the SS Minnow. LouP, Congratulations to you on 5 weeks! Awesome job! That must be a huge fire if you call smell it across the state. Stay inside where the air quality is better. Jean, 50 DAYS!!! Way to go!!! What kind of reward do you have planned for today? Hello all!!! How is everyone doing today? Shakes, you feeling any better? My job is like yours. Doesn't matter how sick you are, you have to be there. I work in a hospital.. and I guess they think if you get to bad there are plenty of people to take care of ya. So, no matter what, you go to work, if you don't go to work then you get an occurance... and after so many occurances, you find a new job. So, I fully understand what you are going through. Just do not push yourself to hard. You have to put your health and your life before any job. You can find another job if you have too, you can't find another life. banana, I haven't been having to many odd dreams since I lowered my dose of Chantix... and since have stopped taking the Chantix. My boyfried has been having some odd dreams, but he always had odd dreams. LOL! I wouldn't worry to much about analyzing it... it is a dream and probably coming from your quit and/or the patches. Jean, how have you been? Well, I have been battling a headache for the past few days. Today isn't much better, but it shall pass sooner or later. This morning was very interesting. When I stepped outside it smelled as though a house or something was burning. It seemed to follow me to work. When I got to work everyone was talking about it. It was hard to breathe... had to use my inhaler. After watching the news find out that the smoke was coming out of Florida/Georgia, from the fires there. Everyone was having a hard time breathing... working in a hospital we saw a lot of people suffering from it. This afternoon the air is much better. Didn't help my headache though... Last night I actually was asleep before 8PM and slept all night... wish I could say I felt better, but still feel really run down. I know it will pass and I know it is my body healing... so I hang in there. Rest when I can and take it as easy as possible. So very proud to be 5 weeks smoke free!!! Banana for a long time there I was having some wicked dreams.. good and bad but then they simply ended. Lots of people have them especially those who are using the patch. And you know, you may not feel that you're being tested, but speaking for myself, there are several times each day where my resolve is tested. Sometime's I don't notice it right away but later I think.. "Ohhh.. that WAS a test!" Oh Shakes.. poor Shakes ! Strep throat ? (((((HUGS)))) Be sure when you've finished your show you come home and gets lots of rest, drink lots of fluids and if you can, get your hands on some homemade chicken soup :) And look at you - tomorrow marks 7 glorious weeks smoke free ! WOO HOO ! Lou - Shakes is right.. As I said in my previous post, our bodies were put through hell with all that smoking, all of those vile chemicals and it's going to take a lot of time and rest and pampering to finally regain some of our normal energies again. Hoping other Ashkicker's check in and let us know how you're doing ! Ciao all... :p Jean My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 49 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,225 Amount Saved: $502.25 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 13 Mins: 47 Seconds: 28

Mornin' y'all! Banana, Jean and I are right behind ya. Save us a life jacket! Or I could just use those little inflatable wings... :p I'm on day two of my antibiotics. Let's hope this Strep Throat goes away quickly. It's so strange: the actors life. There is no other prefession in the world where you're still expected to show up for work when ill AND contagious. But, off I go in a couple of minutes to do a performance of Romeo and Juliet. Then I come home and SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP some more! Lou, do get plenty of rest. I think that our bodies are working over-time, healing in new and strange ways. Our immune systems are gonna be out of whack for a bit. I think that's why I'm sick; I didn't get enough rest. Just my take on the tired thing. Be well, everyone!!! --Shakes My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 48 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 960 Amount Saved: $432.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 1 Mins: 11 Seconds: 10
