Hey John I bumped up a post in this same forum, called "A Little Help For My Friends", created by Duffis, here. Has a great list of self-talk and things to think about when you are struggling. Hope it helps. You CAN do this...You ARE doing this! Hello John: I remember very well the day I reached 5 and then said two more days and I will have a week then one more day after another and that is all it is one day, one anything, just don't smoke. I smoked for over 58 years and have been so dam lucky because of genes that I did not get lung cancer, copd ect, ect. Today I have no craves, no desires to smoke, I can party, drink get very social and never have an urge to smoke. Even my lovely bride can't pi** me off enough to want a smoke, she tries like hell......lol but she can't beat me into a smoke or crave. Your desire to quit smoking has overpowered your desire to smoke. Keep your quit higher than anything else and you will win the war on this terrible addiction. Keep posting, keep in mind that there is so much support available to you and use it!! I have had a few people that I have mentored here at he SSC and I have a 100% success rate if that means anything. Keep the faith, scream, shout, run in circles, but never light up. John you are a winner, I can sense it. Don't smoke, do what ever it takes to stay nicotine free. I will be watching and praying for you, just keep in mind that you are in control of YOU.
