Hi Redface, Well, I'm afraid to admit it but I do remember Mr. Ed the talking horse. :) I'm 45 and in the works of being diagnosed. I have seen a psychologist once, dr. about 6 times and have a meeting with the Anxiety Disorder Association of Manitoba on Tuesday, maybe I'll be able to get a grip on what I have sometime next week. Take care. Anxious_Ed

Hi Anxious Ed! Boy I love your pen name....I don't know how old you are, but when I was a kid a long time ago...we used to watch this T.V. show about a talking horse, (a comedy of course); and at the end of the introductory song, the horse sang, "I, am Mr. Ed"...it just reminded me of that...a nice memory. Yah, we're all a bunch of anxious people here, however, everyone is making some progress as we go along, so I hope you will too!

Hi Eldon, welcome to the place. I reckon you've got the right attitude towards recovery. Sucks so much when you have another panic attack after your first, then you realise 'oh lordy, now I really have to do something about this!' Completely understand if you wanna keep your identity private. Theres nothing much to hide around these parts, everyone can relate to everyone else it's cool :) Hope to hear from you soon -Sky.

It's nice to know that you are not alone. Because you don't necessarily see people with anxieties or phobias when you start getting them you feel like a freak. I came home from work one day and started ranting and raving to my wife that I was going crazy. I sat down and played a dual role of self and inner self (my boss does a bit of hypnotism and got me in touch with my "wise being") and my inner self told me to take some time off of work until I get myself straightened out and I did. I feel good just knowing that there is people out there that I can talk to. Thanks to all, Anxious_Ed (well it's actually Eldon) I wanted to hide my identity a bit but I see others out there who are using a name so hey why not. I believe that I am in the company of friends and hopefully on the way to recovery. :)

Hi Ed! You are not alone! Duh, you know that if you have been browsing here for long! :) Anyway, I started meditation and Yoga too this weekend!!! Yay! I am so excited! I have found that just the last two mornings, doing a simple morning routine with Yoga (I have a beginners tape) helps clear my mind and get me ready for the day. I have a stressful job situation and am always walking on egg shells. Anyhow, I also bought a cd rom for my computer at work that shows me simple yoga techniques to do at my desk at different intervals while Im at work. Sometimes, I get very anxious at work if things start going to fast and furious. Anyhow, let me know how the Yoga and stuff is helping you. I don't know how long you have been doing it, but I'd like to know if anyone else has had positive effects from it!!! Good luck and keep posting. -Misty

Welcome Ed, You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Josie

I found the location for this website from a brochure that I recently received and I am glad to be here. I had a panic attack a few years ago and thought I was having a heart attack. I started taking paxil and things got better. I found my moods were better and life was going good again until recently. I was experiencing lots of stress at work and then did something stupid, I bought something pretty pricey sight unseen. I was going by the sellers word and his reputation. When I received the item I bought, I found out it was worthless. From there I just seemed to fall apart and melt down. I'm hoping to get some morale support and tips from the forums to help me cope. I have started doing some Yoga and Tai Chi to help, and it is helping. I figure that I will need to do some cognitive behavior therapy to help out as well and hopefully get some help off this website too and after browsing around through the forumns, I feel somewhat better already.
