Praise for Chantex

Hi LadyJ. I'm using Chantix too and feel similarly. So far it's been pretty easy, but my brain isn't totally convinced by what my mouth is saying yet. I'm working on that by reading, posting, and learning as much as I can about this addiction. I figure if we can let ourselves be brainwashed into thinking we like smoking, we can deprogram our brains to realize that we don't need or want it. You definitely found the right place for support. LadyJ, Great that the Chantix has helped. I used it too, but never forget that the real reason you have quit is because YOU wanted to. There is no magic bullet, just the final decision that you are a non-smoker and anything less is not acceptable. Bart

Yes, Chantix is great! Today is day 8 on Chantix and my quit date. I have to say that it hasn't been as hard as I thought. I won't have to much money either because what I spent on cigs is now what I pay for my Chantix... my insurance won't cover any of it.. I am glad to see I am not the only one using "self talk". I have been telling myself all day that I don't smoke anymore and like you I will be so glad when my brain catches on, but till then I will keep telling myself over and over.. LOL! Hello all, I stopped completely on March 30th and I'm doing great!! I have a few mild urges but they pass fast. I've even been through 3 very stressful situations during which I would have chained smoked before but I made it through them. I can't say I've saved any money because I now spend as much on suckers as I did on cigarettes but I know that will end someday. I also eat when I would have smoked so I've gained 10 pounds. I've been going to the gym to help keep some of the weight gain down. I feel good. I can breath better. I have high hopes for success and I know I couldn't have gotten this far without Chantex. I do a lot of self talk to remind myself I don't smoke anymore. I'll be glad when my brain connects with my self talk and believes it. I haven't yet reached that deep down belief that I'm truly a non-smoker, don't want to smoke, and am happy about it. Well just wanted to keep you up-to-date on how I'm doing.
