my weak week almost over

18 years ago 0 232 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
14 days, that's terrific, Princess. Like everyone says, it does get easier and everybody's timing varies. Just keep saying no. Each time you say no, you get stronger and your addiction gets weaker. It can be done. We are all following in the footsteps of successful quitters before us. Look around the site, you will find ex-smokers with meters reading 600,700,800 days. From the sounds of it, they're having a blast. I want to join them, how about you? Good work Princess. You're through heck week. Keep that attitude as positive as possible and don't forget to reward yourself - even if it's just by soaking in a bath or getting a special drink (maybe non-alcoholic to be safe and not trigger a craving, LOL) I'm nearing that 2 week point, too. We can do this. - Freemom My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 143 Amount Saved: $44.88 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 2 Mins: 31 Seconds: 33

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Princess, I myself found things got easier (note- easier not easy) in the third week. The cravings and triggers still happen but I feel better equipped to handle them. Remember, smoking is not an option. Keep up the good work! Hi Princess You are doing great. I know how you feel. I get so frustrated with that myself. But I must tell you, it does get better as they say. I am at day 40 it just now seems like it is getting better for me. Less times of wanting to kill someone and more times of bliss. I actually made it through the long weekend of Easter and I have to say I did great. No bitting the heads off my family this weekend. I really was glad about that, because that part bothered me a lot. I could not wait until I was able to get through a weekend without being angry. So please hang in there, it will get better. Each time we learn to live with doing something new (without smoking) makes it a little easier. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 39 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 986 Amount Saved: $195 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 4 Mins: 19 Seconds: 19

Hi Princess. I am just a little bit ahead of you and it does start getting better soon. You have made it through the toughest part so stay strong one minute, one hour, one day at a time. You can do it ! Princess, Congratulations on doing such a great job! You should be very proud of yourself. Everyone wants that "magic day" where they wake up and all cravings or thoughts of smoking are completely gone. I wish it worked that way but all of us are so different and so are our addictions as well as our quits. But, sooner or later, we'll get there. We just have to be patient and allow our bodies to continue to heal. I wish I could tell you that in 6 days from today, all cravings or thoughts of smoking will be completely gone. I can tell you that with each passing day, it gets a little bit better. I can tell you too that you're strong enough to deal with each passing day. You've already gone through the worst of it. Princess, Congratulations on three weeks! Just as fagashlynne mentionned, most start to see improvement after the first month but again, everyone is different. Keep persevering! These triggers become easier to overcome as you keep practicing this new way of living. You'll get there, just keep taking it one day at a time and don't forget to reward yourself for your accomplishments, big or small. Danielle ____________________ The SSC Support Team
