I am DIZZY!

Thanks to all for your replies. I do still feel the dizziness however as long as I take a xanax if I become overly anxious it helps tremendously. I will see my Dr. on Friday to discuss what is going on with me. It helps me a lot to know that this dizziness is somewhat a normal reaction to increases in paxil dosage. Also that the anxiety I feel may also be related to the increase. Keep me posted guys...you are all my eyes in this process! Rose

Hi. I just wanted to say that I have been on Paxil CR for three weeks now and upped my dose to 25mg from 12.5mg after the first week and a half. Just to let you know I had a few days of unbalanced feeling and nausea and generally not feeling well, but that passed and now it's smooth sailing for me. I feel confident that this is the right medicine for me and I wish I could say the same for you. I know I felt terrible those few days and almost felt the same way you did about the Paxil. I'm also not going to worry about weaning myself either right now. That only causes me undue panic. I think you are right to mention it to your doctor though. And I do agree with the dilating pupil comment. I've looked at my pupils under the bathroom light and they've been huge when I'm feeling the dizziness. Good luck! Keep posting and let us know how it goes. -Michaela

Yeah, Paxil CAN cause dizziness when either increasing or decreasing your dosage. I've been off paxil for 5 weeks now, and I still have an occasional dizzy spell. They usually only last a few seconds (at least for me). But I also had dizzy spells when I began taking paxil. HTH!!

Rose, You are doing everything you are supposed to do! Glad to hear that you made an appointment to see your doctor, good move! As for the rest of us, can you all please comment on any possible side-efects or concerns you had if you were on the same medication as rose? Thanks, and good luck rose! Melanie

I can definitely relate to the dizziness feeling. I have it so often, it doesn't scare me anymore UNTIL of course, I have a panic attack and then...I get scared all over again. It has to do with the eyes dilating to let more light in to help us fight or run when in danger. Perfectly normal and natural. But of course...this is assuming you have seen your doctor and he says it is nothing medical. Cheers, Danielle

I have been having bouts of dizziness since Sunday evening and it feels really weird. I have been on my increased dose of paxil for 2 weeks now and I DO NOT feel better...I feel worse. Very anxious all of the time and now the dizziness. Does this sound like an event that could be caused by the paxil? Yesterday I felt pretty much the same way when I woke up and I took a xanax and felt fine with just a little dizziness late in the day. I am going to make an appointment to see my doctor too discuss this but in the mean time I just thought I would ask you guys.
