Supportive partners?

Hi there Rose, You are VERY VERY lucky. Please go and give your wife a great big hug for all of us. Very few people have the patience or understanding to even WANT to TRY to understand our situation, I am thrilled to hear that your support is as such. I have certainly had my fair share of people who think it is all in my head and refuse to show ANY kind of compassion, nor try to understand, and unfortunately, many of them are part of my nuclear family. My husband on the other hand is very good with me. He gives me whatever control I need at the moment and doesn't look down or give me that shameful look ever. I can't say he would ever go out of his way to read up on things or try to get more of a an understanding, but his efforts are definitely appreciated, and I know he is trying to be patient and for me, that is good enough. So, I agree with sky. Should your wife find herself needing encouragement or understanding, come join us. I personally, would be happy to help out if I can. Peace, Danielle

Hi Rose, I don't know of any forums for partners of panic sufferers. I've searched for one myself, didn't find anything. By all means she could take part in this forum. Don't see why not :) Unfortunately theres not a lot of facilities out there for partners, friends and family of anxiety disorders and the like. I'm confident at this stage in society this is changing as the worlds knowledge of these things broadens. I'll keep you posted if I ever find the kind of forum you're after. Take care.

hello to all...I am asking a question on my partner's behalf. She is very happy that I came to this site. She believes the support and information you all give has helped me tremendously. I agree. She was curios if there is a site for partners of panic sufferers. She is very caring and patient but I know she suffers too...from frustration. It must be heartbreaking seeing someone you love so terrified and being unable to really comfort them. Well if any of you guys have any ideas for her please let us know. Aloha, Rose
