Jean, Congratulations on two weeks smoke free! Lou P Lou, A change in routine is an excellent way to break that association! Good job! Mike, 1 + week! Way to go! Ki, You passed that tempting test with flying colors. That's a great way to look at your quit. Use this site as often or as little as you need it. We'll always be here. Kudos to all April Ashkickers! You're all doing great! Keep it up! Danielle ____________________ The SSC Support Team

Hello, everyone! It is good to see that you are all doing well, and it is so nice to have Bingo's expertise and experience right here in our group! I'm just checking in so that you know I'm still here and still smoke free. I had three difficult days in a row this week, but yesterday things returned to what I now consider normal. I knew things were better when we went to a dinner party yesterday and the after-dinner smoke didn't even tempt me. Made me feel clean and strong and powerful. I am finding that the more time I spend reading postings here, the more time I spend thinking about smoking, and the stronger the cravings. It seems to work better for me to just try to stay busy and not even think about smoking. I think I have convinced myself that the grieving is over and that it is time to move on and get over being a former smoker. Instead of mentally whining about how much I miss smoking, I am trying to embrace the benefits of not smoking. There are many, and if I add those benefits to my list of blessings and work on counting them, I can get by for quite a while without craves. Keep up the good work everyone, and congratulations on your progress to date! Ki :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 533 Amount Saved: $78 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 17 Mins: 50 Seconds: 25

Hi All, Just dropping by to say I'm doing and feeling great! LouPLou, I've seen your posts around and it sounds like you're off to a powerful beginning. Good luck to your boyfriend! Now's the time for you both! Jean, I've seen you around too. I'm really glad all is well. April is a great month to quit, right Bingo? Mike P.S. What does Mike12000 say to pop-up smoking thoughts? Dinner is over and can't say that I am craving a smoke to bad.. I have thought about it... but the craving isn't to bad. Either way... I have kept busy and now reading some on the site. Don't want to just sit down in front of the tv.. afraid that wouldn't be a good thing... Rock on Lou!!! Welcome to the wonderful world of FREEDOM. Welcome to the club! Stay close, read lots, post lots and be prepared. Most of all - BELIVE. Don't fall for the lies of addiction. That is honestly all they are. It sounds cheesy and corny, but if you believe in yourself you WILL get through the lies addiction throws at you. I'll try to be around on IMs a fair bit for the next couple days. Anyone at all please feel free to contact me anytime. Way to go today Lou P Lou ! You're doing great ! I know exactly where you're coming from about the after dinner smoke.. Keep real busy - dishes, talk on the phone, read posts, respond to posts.. and then before you know it the craving is gone or sometimes never comes at all :) J xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 369 Amount Saved: $143.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 15 Mins: 53 Seconds: 24

Hello everyone! Yes I am a Chantix quitter.. thank goodness! I am doing better today that I thought. When I woke up this morning, I said a little prayer.. then told myself, "You are a non-smoker now". I did pretty good till about 8:30 this morning.. BUT, I made it thought the craving! The sugar free gum worked! So far so good! The next big challenge will be after dinner.. and dinner is almost done.. LOL! But, if I made it thought the bad craving this morning, I can make it though all of them! BUT, I am sure I will be around a lot this evening.. Lou P Lou, Congrats on making the best decision of your life. It may not always be easy, but what in life that's important is? Do I remember right from other posts that you're a Chantix quitter? It's really helped me in my quit. Anyway, I'm so glad you're here with us. I'm so happy I'm doing this and thankful to have all the members of the SSC here to learn from, to talk to and help me keep my spirits high!
