sorry it it too so long to answer you. i am no pro at this condition...cold uticaria...an allergic reaction to cold air which can give you hives, itchy, dry skin and allergy symptoms. try searching it through the web and try webmd.com . it is a rare condition so i can tell you only that it does exist!

Dear Danielle, I know this was specifically for Nurseboy but just wanted to wish you well. You must have been totally stunned at this diagnosis? I'm wondering how you reacted and what your stress levels were!! I've recently been diagnosed with Labyrinthitis (a type of vertigo) which seems to come out of the blue. The strange thing is that because I know it's "real" and not imagined, I tend to cope a lotter better with the effects as opposed to a panic attack! Hope you find the info you need Danielle! Wendy xx

Hi there, I was diagnosed today as having cold-urtaria (allergic to the cold). It is just the strangest thing, I still can't believe it. I get huge welts all over my body when my skin is exposed to cold. I am not supposed to eat or drink anything cold, and am not to swim in unheated waters as I could go into anaphylatic shock. I now have to carry an epipen around as it could be fatal. Anyhow, all this to say that I am quite frighted now. I see my doctor later but I was wondering if you have ever heard of this condition? Is it rare? Can you recommend a reliable source on the net that would be able to provide me with info. I know I can just look it up, but I am not always too trusting of some sites. Thought you might refer to some yourself. Thanks DAnielle
