Hi Audrey, Sorry to hear about your mother. You did a good thing by quitting, see where you are now. 94 days is good. Your sister will see the light when she is ready. For now she has too much excuses. Maybe you should tell her how your life has changed. Sometimes that helps a person to make the desicion to quit. All the best for your family and you ofcourse . Hugs. You know, it's a difficult place to be in when your mother may soon be attached to an oxegen tank, and she gave up smoking 35 years ago, and you have quit but your siblings have not. Pisses me off. Spoke to my sister tonight. Always avoided the quit subject because I know how it comes from within. But she asked me, and I told her I was still quit and told her about Chantix. Her excuse was she hadn't been to a Dr in forever and this was prescription and she hated the white coats?!? Ok, my sister has a degree in recreational therapy...she is not stupid but nic sure is making her sound that way! Lost the sister connection on this one! Love her and she has other problems but sounds like she's not ready. You see my dad just sent all of his children an update on Mom's condition. His last words were: "All of you stay well and if you smoke - STOP!!!!!" So many years later he and Mom are answering questions from the doctors on her smoking. :( :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 94 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,880 Amount Saved: $263.2 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 3 Mins: 30 Seconds: 38

Audrey, So sorry to hear about your mom. That's tough. Deli said it best, all we can do is be patient and keep setting a strong example with the hope they will someday follow. Keep strong. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team
Hard as it is - we must forgive the 'addict talk'. All smokers try to make excuses for smoking, but are all fully aware of the major dangers of smoking. We have to be patient, I guess, and wait for them, too, to see the light. Audrey, Sorry to hear about your mom. My brother and I have gotten on and off the smoking merry go round many times. Sometimes I have tried quitting when he has, and vice versa. This time it is IT for me. I just keep him posted weekly about my progress and tell him how relatively easy it has been using Chantix. I can tell he is thinking about it. Patient but persistent ; ) -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,173 Amount Saved: $197.2 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 0 Mins: 55 Seconds: 56
