Well Pat!! What to do? What to say? We are both so sorry that after all this time, you feel this way. There must come a time when you are hurting yourself more by not smoking. We have witnessed these events before and conclude that you must be driving yourself crazy by quitting. Pat, it's your life and you live it but once, do what is right for you and to hell with everything and everybody else. Whichever you choose, we wish you good luck, today and always, Penitent d1063 & Luna d1022

LindaM, You don't have to choose that fate. You can choose to keep trying and we will support you every step of the way. Work through the program, make up your plan and put it into action. You can do this! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Pat - where are you? How are you doing? My nicodemon is strong tonight. Seems to be that when things are a wee bit tougher than the norm for me, is when my junkie brain kicks in. I hear your pain. I hope, regardless of the status of your quit, that you are doing OK in yourself. I am sending you lots of hugs. Just let us know you are OK. Linda, That was an awesome post. You painted a picture of a place I do not want to be. I don't want you there either!! What do you have to lose if you quit again? I mean, you're living in hell right now so would it hurt anything if you give a quit another shot? You've been reading the posts so you know we really do support each other and we know how hard it is. You're living in fear right now and that's just no quality of life. Fear is a struggle. Far more of a struggle than quitting is. Please, think about it and when you're ready, we're here to help. Linda....you can do this too. I can back from a slip too. But here I am....and rarly does the thought of smoking ever happen. but when it doe...NOPE. e I will not smoke again....simply because I believe I would then die a smoker. Come back to us Linda. Rework the tools, talk to your doc (that chantix seems to be working real well for some people!), and start posting. We'll be here to help. Pat, Please come back and let us know how you're doing. Okay? Here's the thing, if you've caved, you can tell us about it and we sure won't stand in judgement. We're here to help you in any way we can. While you're recharging, please read the workbook over to the left, if you haven't already. That workbook really helps a lot and gets you ready to quit. We're here for you when you're ready. Pat, my advice is not to think about it at all. If you cave right now, it will not be because of any rational choice you have made, you are not in a state of mind to make a responsible decision to return to smoking. (there never is one, but i'm trying to start "where you're at"). My advice is to do whatever you need to do to ride this out. Think out of the box. Drop and do 20 or 30, do something nice for someone, -- whatever to just get through (there are lots of tips on this site). Get angry. FIGHT. Much later, you think about the cons of quitting and what you can do to combat those. Because you are a fighter, and you are so worth it, so are your family and friends. check in.
