Jan, great message. "I'm not going to smoke today" means I'm not going to smoke forever. Jan, Thanks for the reminder. Not always "one day at a time", but sometimes "one hour at a time" or "one minute at a time". Whatever it takes, I won't smoke. You are so right Jan. Not only about taking things one day at a time, but about the good days. So often we dwell on the bad days ... we should remember how many days have really been good and be optimistic that most will be that way! As we all know, the journey we're on is much like a rollercoaster. We have good days, and we have bad days. I have been blessed with about 4 of the best days since I quit smoking. I haven't given smoking much thought and don't really miss it. HOWEVER, I never take these days for granted because I know it can turn in a flash. This is all part of the quit smoking journey. Still I never look ahead any more than...ONE DAY AT A TIME. One day at a time will see you through. The rough times are temporary and its REALLY nice to know that as time goes on, the rough times become fewer and fewer. I can tell you this, because after 24 years, I'm finally living it. Be proud to be a non smoker!!!! Cheers, Jan :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 102 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,081 Amount Saved: $918 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 13 Mins: 7 Seconds: 8
