I am stuck on #3 Challenging Anxious Thoughts

21 years ago 0 274 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
When I ask myself, #3, is my anxious thought true? My answer is yes! Sub question #1. Has anyone notice me panic before? Yes! #2. Is it 100% true? Yes! #3. Has anyone made fun of me or thought I was nuts or perverted? Yes! #4. What bad could come of it? It could ruin my reputation or marriage. #5. What could be the worst thing that could happen? I might be overstimulated to the point of being attracted to those I panic around, and fall in love with my imagination, causing myself unneccessary emotional pain and self-hatred. Is anyone else stuck on challenging anxious thoughts like this? How can I overcome these anxious thoughts? The only way I have found in the past is through medications. I cannot seem to get into the cognitive therapy way, because my cognition abilities are obviously limited....when emotions are not in control.
