Thanks Danielle and Marie......and way to go Marie, you're in day four! You're doing a great job! Yes, this is day six for me. Day five was a bit tough, which caught me off guard because I had a pretty good day four. However I'm determined to have a smoke-free weekend. Just got back from the hairdresser (a little day six treat!) And a trip to the gym is in my future this afternoon. Hang in everybody...and thanks for all the encouragement. I wouldn't have made it to day six without you all!

Thanks all...that's reassuring. Yes, you're right Windy.....nothing is as bad as inhaling all those toxins. I'll keep plugging along with the patch. It seems to be working, I'm in day six! Have a great weekend!

quck question for some of you who may have encountered this. I went to the doctor yesterday because I've had a sore throat for a month. Turns out I have an ear infection, and he gave me antibiotics. While there, they took my blood pressure and it was higher than normal. I don't normally have a problem with blood pressure, but I did notice that since I started the patch, my face has been a bit red. I told them I was on the patch and nobody seemed very concerned. And apparently, even without the patch, nicotine withdrawal itself can raise your blood pressure. Of course, so does smoking. Anyway, I just wondered if anybody else had dealt with this. I don't know if I should be worried, or just keep plodding ahead with the patch. Otherwise it seems to be working for me. Thanks! Marg....my second or third day I quit...I went to the doc and my blood pressure was also up....but last week when I was in (7 weeks later), it was normal again. My doctor didn't seem concerned either. Stay strong!!! I'm afraid I didn't have a doctor prior to and during my quit so I don't know what my blood pressure was. However, if I had to guess by my mood, it was probably good and high that first three weeks. If your doctor wasn't worried, I wouldn't worry either. The nicotine that we put in our system through the patch is much less harmful than the nicotine that we inhaled when we smoked. All the best! Marg, Thank you for sharing this experience with us and we hope you are well :) Always take the time to discuss with your doctor different options to help you quit, regardless if it involves medication or not. Every one has a different body chemical make-up so the body will react differently from quitting. The good aspect is that your body is ridding itself of all those horrible toxins. Take the time to show your doctor the program and use it step by step together for a better success rate. Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
