Humility and Duffis

That was a nice hommage to those "that went before us". It's very cool of them to stick around and continue to support the thousands since them. It is so important to have support in your quit. If it weren't for the on line support, this quit would have been 1/3rd the fun it has been :) Nice post. Marie

Upon recommendation, I went in search of a "Duffism" today. I could only search back (to my knowledge to 365 days). This is fantastic. It means on the surface that Duffis is beyond the status quo of this site for the search. It's also kinda sad that the search beyond that was not readily available. On the way home I thought about what kinda quote I would like to bump for his 2 year smoke-free birthday. I thought I would be really cool to show him as a newbie. Considering that he now has 2 years under his belt, it would be inspiring to hear when he said something like - "I am new to this site, I may have quit before, I am afraid, I could use support" (as we all have said before). But then again, I came along post Duffism. Maybe it really would have been something like some the other Hall of Fame-ers " I am ready to make a quit, I am strong and I will never look back (period)". Considering all the claim to fame made about Duffis, I would like to think of him as someone who started off like the rest of us - just a joe blow at our wit's end and ready to take a stand. But then again, I like to think of all of us as gifted who because of our seperateness fell into the nicotine sand trap. If it had'nt been for that - we would all be royality of our home planets. Really, I believe that every once in a while there comes along someone who is special among us and who can therefore make a difference among us.
