Great Job! The monster knows he is lossing and is trying even harder. I know some of these craving are so strong that it takes a real strong person to not give in! You need to pat yourself on the back. You did great and did not throw again all these weeks of hard work and pain. Way to go! Hi Shortcake, As Soon as you read this post you should drop your arms to the side as if your hands were made of lead. Let your head fall forward until your chin hit your chest, close your eyes and take a deep breath in for 6 seconds slowly thru your nose and then slowly release the breathe out the mouth as you slowly look up and open your eyes. Now remember why you wanted to stop in the first place and get your day back on track. This board is and has been great support for many including myself. But remember your motivation your kid, health, spouse, family, friends. Something sparked the reason you wanted to quit. Its not worth given up your quit because of someone you work for or with. Instead stay strong for yourself and your motivation to be a non smoker!!! Thanks Josie. I am trying so hard, but I can't leave the office. I try to get up and walk away and five people come running to me for something different. I just snapped at the boss' brother!! Ugg, that isn't going to settle well I know. I guess that is a problem I will have to deal with later. Thank you for your kind support, you and Penguin both, I appreciate it. I am trying, I really am. Thanks Penquin... Everything you say is absolutely right, and I know it is. It is just so hard right now...God, there is no mercy at this place. I am snapping off people's heads who are only trying to help me, I want to hang on, I REALLY DO WANT TO HANG ON!! I have even gone outside in the 20 degree weather to try and get away from the situation for a minute and to breath..but Nicodemon won't leave me alone. I haven't felt this bad since day 1 of my quit. It is so hard right now. I know I have the strength inside of me, but damn, I can't pull it to the top! **breathing*** My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 371 Amount Saved: $81 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 11 Mins: 51 Seconds: 15

Hi everyone. I know I am the one usually posting to stay strong and such, but I am in a spot right now. My boss is driving me absolutely crazy!! He won't back off and the cravings are killing me. I went to the warehouse to drop something off is shipping (where the smoking area is) and I heard the smokers all back there laughing and having fun, and I smelled the smoke. I hate to say this, but it smelled good to me!! That awful, nasty, gross stuff smelled appealing!! I am ready to crack!!! I keep telling myself no, and I keep breathing and chewing gum, but it is killing me!! Please help.... I feel myself wanting to fall back into the old me!!! Shortcake My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 371 Amount Saved: $81 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 11 Mins: 49 Seconds: 5

Whew.... that was a close one!! I listened to what everyone said, did my breathing and actually got up and told the girls around me "I have to walk away for a second, or I am walking out!", Luckily, they listened. Thank you all so much for you kind thoughts and posts. It really did help. I knew I wanted to hold on, but I needed someone behind me to kick me in the butt to get it done!! That is just what you did! I made it. I didn't smoke! Thank you all so very much!! You are greatly appreciated!! Aunt Deb & hadenuf, Thank you as well for your kind advise. I did relax a little. I went outside in the freezing temperatures and actually yelled at the top of my lungs! (I sure am glad no one heard me, or they would have thought I had lost it for sure!!). I couldn't believe how bad I was craving! It was nuts! I did my breathing, I did my quick walk and I calmed down, then came back to my desk. Thank you all for being there for me as always, it is so appreciated. I don't know what I would do without this site. XXXXXOOOOOOXXXXXXOOOOOO - YOU ALL ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE! Hey Shortcake! You hangin in there? I'm new here too. As far as work goes...it's not nearly as important as your quit. Things have been a little shaky at work for me, not torturous, but shaky. I have promised myself that even if I lose my job I will not start smoking again. (Don't worry I think it's ok). It's just a matter of priorities I think. It's just a crappy day at work. For goodness sake don't reward it by giving up on your quit. It isn't worth it. Staying quit is definitely more important than any crap life deals to you. Which do you think is more important: A) Happy and healthy smoke free you B) Crappy day at the office, which will pass Stay strong Shortcake. I like you. You like you too! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 553 Amount Saved: $75.6 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 16 Mins: 32 Seconds: 0

Your funny Shortcake. I like the posts and the way you reacted. Walking away for a few minutes has gotten me past a lot of things in the past few weeks. A quick 5 minute walk away, a few real good deep breathes, a stop by the water cooler for a quick drink and then back to it. Good to hear from you. Sorry it happened during a bad time, but your still hanging. Jimmy T.M. Way to go Shortcake! Just popped by to say it's not crazy to like the smell of smoke - I must admit I actually like it to a certain extent but that doesn't mean I'm ever going to smoke again! It's one of those things...no matter what other people do, smokers, non smokers, new quitters, etc., none of it really matters to you. If you've committed to quit, your commitment is steel - you cannot possibly fail!
