My sister quit 2 years ago and gained 30 lbs, she's now losing it. I'm really proud of you! My husband and I both started our quit not to long ago and we have found that tuna fish and saltine crackers has helped up. Sugar free candy and lots of fruit and vegtables. Keep your quit and worry about the diet later. Smoking is much worse than gaining some pounds. You can alway lose the weight, you can't grow new lungs. Good luck and best wishes with you. Jaden: A second butt, huh? Oh, now there's a nice visual! But funny! Thanks for the laugh. As I write this, I'm munching on celery sticks with peanut butter. Sigh.... I've gained about 8 pounds and it's not pretty. I was planning to get serious about a diet and exercise plan after the first of the year and now it's the 4th already, and....well I'm just not ready to be serious about it yet, I guess. I've always had a sweet tooth, but this is crazy! My current fixation is gum drops -- only the red, orange and yellow ones! Wow! I'm telling you, I'm really losing control on the gum drop thing. Anybody else? Keep the faith. Jaden, I got new jeans for x-mas and it wasn't because I was getting skinnier. Check out missy-fit on the weight thread. She is doing great at watching what she eats and exercising...she is an inspiration to all of us. I started my diet today. A yogurt bar for breakfast...yummmmmm!!! Oh honey, just do a "weight" search at the top of each page, and after you read all those, then go to the weight forum here at the home page. We, most of us, have gained weight and although we don't much like it, you would have to gain 100 lbs to be as bad for you as smoking is. So don't fret the weight, we can always lose that later, but you can't lose cancer or an Oxygen tank.... Denise, hope I don't gain another 20 lbs! Ok... I have officially grown a second butt... my eating is out of control and I have gained 10 pounds. I am not that far in yet and I am concerned that I will be 50 pounds heavier when I am finally able to control my eating. My cravings to smoke are suppressed by the 75 pounds of food I am shoveling in my mouth daily... HELP!!!! Is anyone else having this problem? I know what you're talking about...... My weight gain leveled at about 20-25 lbs. Now I gotta get it off. Funny...it appeared almost overnight, I doubt it will go away as fast as it appeared. I'm trying to eat better and exercise more.....no fun! Jaden, Your quit is important and this is top priority! Congrats on 43 days :) Take the time to make healthy choices and use lots of water, veggies and fruits. You can also check with your doctor to come up with an eating and exercise plan that is right for your body :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
