Thank you to everyone for your support. It feels so great to get on here and see some one has cared enough to respond and give advice. When I start getting that feeling of it not being worth it I get on here and this site and all the support helps so very much....Thanks everyone.
I have stopped smoking but afraid I will fall back into it. It has been almost 12 full days but do not feel very confident in myself. My poor children have not had an easy time with me either. My husband has stopped also and he seems to be doing great! (Congrats honey) I am not sure how to keep my "anger" placed where it should be and not on my family. My children understand (they are 13 and 10) but I still don't want to put them through the yelling and rants I seem to be having. Anyone with any suggestions that might help them?

Honey you're doing great and I'm so proud of you. I've enjoyed the long walks and open talks since we've quit smoking. We will continue to fight this together and we will succeed. All my love - Rob
Hi Wendi -
If you get the chance, read the book by Allen Carr's book. In the book, he talks about anger issues and how addicts subconsiously use it as a defense mechanism...meaning, if they're miserable long enough, it will somehow justify going back to the addiction.
Quitting is full of ups and downs, but each one of us choose the attitude that we have each day. If you think you're denying yourself, you will surely fail. Actually, you're not denying yourself anything, your gaining a new lease on life! You're finally a non-smoker! You should be celebrating!
Just my two cents...peace.

Wendi:
Here's where I keep my anger pointed: directly at the addiction, the nicodemon who wants me back (No WAY!!!), the tobacco industry, and myself for letting them all win for far too many years.
That really does keep me focused.
You are doing great!! You have a wonderful family who understands and you WILL get through it all.
Keep breathing, reward yourself and KNOW you are on the right and only path for yourself, one that you chose for very good reason.
Keep the faith.

Wendy, you are so very welcome......and please always remember...if you need anything or are struggling...post first...there are so many people who can help with so many things...also...you can help other's too!! It's really a great support system for people trying to quit.
P.S. Do you know how to get a teenager to stop rolling their eyes at you...hmmmmmmmm...I still haven't figured that one out yet? Could it be a genetic defect or lazy eye or something???
Have a great night!

Hi Wendy,
I can so relate to the ranting and raving....I also have an 11 and 14 year old and at first it was a little tough on them, but remember, they love you very much and want you to quit smoking. Just remind them that your not quite yourself and to be patient with you. Also...read Danielle's GREAT insert here in this thread...it helped me immensley the first few weeks and things were a little easier on the family.
I also take time when I was in a good mood (I still do this today) that I will thank the kid's and the hubby for all their support and patience with me and I give them all hugs. This is not easy, it's an addiction we are fighting. Just take it one day at a time and make sure you reward yourself as you go along. That helps to keep your spirits up.
Keep posting and stay strong through the New Year!
Kaiti

So I'm a little slow and just figured out that Robb was spouse. Bummer, I was hoping that things might start to get exciting around here. (I mean they're a way cute couple and everything -- I just figured Robb might be well, someone [anyone!] else. Not that I lead a dull life or anything...)

Hi Wendi
I'm afraid that we've all gone through that phase. You have received lots of helpful advice to deal with anger when it emerges......Now don't forget to forgive yourself. This quit is tough and you are doing it. Congratulations on 12 successful days!
