Im on my 3 quit day here, so I figure I get out of the house for a bit. My daughter and I went to Target and some woman was 15 feet away and she reaked of cigs. I was shocked how bad she smell and strong the aroma was. Hey, this makes me stronger to keep away from ever smoking a cig, and being here venting keeps my mind off my symptoms. Cheers :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 77 Amount Saved: $16 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 53 Seconds: 45

Simba: I'm with Katy -- I was just dumbstruck at how BAD smokers smell! How could we have gone so long (in my case, 35 years) without knowing this?! Part of the smokers' blinder mentality -- don't make us see the truth, or SMELL the truth about smoking. Too scary, too real. Once we finally realize how to quit, we learn so much. I'm still embarrassed to think how I must have smelled to my clients who never smoked (or had quit) smoking. I used a breath mint, so figured I would fool them. OMG, what a joke! Congratulations to you, Simba. You are off to a wonderful start to your quit -- keep it going, one day at a time. I am floored at the memory of the times that I laid in bed telling my kids a bed time story while reeking of a cigarette smell that would fell a lumberjack. I'm glad that the smell of smoke is starting to fade from my home and car. Car especially. I could hardly get in the darn thing. Congrats Simba! 3 days is awesome..... it's not easy but it sure is better! I am having a hard time finding smokers to smell! I know in the long run it is a good thing but there are very few people I know that smoke and I want to test my whiffer!!!! Simba, I was amazed at the bad smell as well. I always wondered what the deal was with people that always knew whenever I had smoked. Once I quit, I actually followed a smoke trail through the office and it lead straight to a smoker. Gross huh! I can smell someone smoking from about a block away! Amazing! Be glad you smell good now!
