jmodge, As the others have said - Sorry to hear you are feeling so terrible. I suffered very bad from panic attacks for several months before I got help. I thought "I can beat this - this is crazy to feel this way". It is very important to know that you are not weird or crazy or anything like that. Panic attacks can be as simple as a chemical imbalance in the brain. Mine started in early 1999. By early 2000, I was very miserable!! I finally took a Dr.'s advice and started taking Zoloft. For the 1st 2 weeks, I swore it made me worse. I rode out those 2 weeks and never suffered from panic or worry again until I tried to go off the medicine. Please don't wait to get help. I know all to well how uncomfortable anxiety can be. Some other advise I can offer that may help you........ buy some anxiety/panic relief tapes or cd's that you can listen to at bed time. They are very helpful. Also if you feel like you are short of breath during a panic attack, make sure that when you breathe in, your stomach rises and not just your chest. I have found this to be helpful and it keeps you from hyperventilating. Best of luck to you!!! ;)

Dear jmodge, Sorry to hear you are feeling like this. Are you under the care of a doctor? At this point I would recommend that you aee your family doctor. It is important to get this under control. In the meantime, make use of the "panic program" on the left of your screen and keep posting with the support group, we are here to help. Susanne

jmodge, I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. I am, too, so I know the feeling... Don't be afraid to go to a doctor. All they will do is help. I've been going to psychiatrists since 1996, and they made a world of difference. I've been on Prozac since then, and it's calmed me down a LOT. I still have outbreaks of panic and depression, but they're not all day, every day like before. I think your light-headedness is a result of panic, as is the heavy feeling in your arm. I have it in my legs, sometimes, it feels like I have to struggle to move them. But it's just panic, and it will pass. I'll write more when I get a chance. It'll get better Take care.

HI there- I have posted a few times and here I am in kind of a panic right now. I feel light headed and my right arm feels heavy and numb. I have been worried tonight that something is wrong with me because sometimes I just get light headed and feel very unsteady. It is usually when my mind is on something that upsets me or freaks me out or any number of things that I am worrying about. This weekend is the four year anniversary of my dads sudden death and I am a mess. For the last month and half I have been having anxiety that I was going to die. I am having a hard time looking into the future because I always feel like I might die before that. I cry almost everyday and then I usually feel better for awhile but then it will all come back. Right now I feel like I am living in a alter life, it doesnt feel like mine. I cant sleep at night, I cant function during the day sometimes at work. I call in at least once a week because I am in a state of panic. I am so depressed. This is not how I want to live my life. I am so tired of feeling like this but I am terrified to see a dr. Does anyone else feel like this!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!! I have my fiance who is wonderful to me and listens to me all the time and also my family is very supportive and I thought I could beat this but I have never been this bad until now and I am exhausted all the time and I have bags under my eyes yet I just cant relax!!! I am sorry that I am rambling but I am just hope someone can help me out of this!!! Thanks so much
