Hey tryagain,
1st congrats to you and hubby on a great quit you have going!
I'm not a dr or anything, but maybe since he exhaled through his nose for so many years the sinus membranes just kept collecting all the garbage from smoking and then they loosened up to the point where it came pouring out of him? I also agree that he see his dr just to be sure that's all it was.
Pea..I just turned 49 yrs old, smoked for 30 yrs and never had a cough while I smoked and since quitting have never developed a cough (just a clearing of the throat every now and then) and never coughed up anything either. I'm sitting here purposely taking very deep breaths and still no cough. I think we're lucky? Don't know.
