Heart Sensations

donna, I used to have that feeling all the time, mine got so bad that I would have the same feeling at all of my pulse points. It's just the anxiety working on your nervous system, which then makes your heart beat faster and harder. Have you always had problems with your blood pressure? I was thinking that maybe your blood pressure is high because of the anxiety. once you totally get the anxiety under control I bet your blood pressure will go down too. Don't worry about your heart pounding though, because if the doctor said everything is fine, then it is. I went through all of the same tests when mine was acting up about 7 years ago, and I didn't beleive it when they told me my heart was fine and that my nerves where the cause of it. I suffered for several years with the fear of having a heart attack until one day I got mad about it and said enough is enough I'm only in my twenties and I'm going to enjoy my life. It didn't take long for the sensations to stop. Anxiety is weird in that way it will manifest itself in alot of different ways. through the years I've been treated for heart problems, insomnia, headaches, back problems, colon problems, stomach problems, depression, ADD and who knows how many more and the whole time it was anxiety and panic. conquer it and all the others will go away.

Dear Donna, I have heard of people experiencing this sensation, particularly when they lay on their left side. When on your left, your heart is close to the chest wall. If you have been seen by your doctor and everthing is ok, then just try and avoid situations that cause the heart pounding in your throat...try the right side. Susanne

It seems that I have shaken all of my anxiety symptoms....lump in throat, muscle spasms, lightheaded, headaches...blah blah blah Except for this one thing that really p's me off, 9 times out of 10 whether I'm lying on the couch or on the floor or even in bed, ONLY when I lay on my left side, I can feel my heart beating in the base of my throat. I've had an Echocardiogram and an ECG everything came back fine. I'm not too concerned about it, just the fact that I have borderline high blood pressure and that I tend to think I will have a heart attack/stroke with every twinge in my chest...hehehe Basically this is the only thing that I can't seem to conquer. Does anyone else feel this?
