Lexapro?

21 years ago 0 7 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
By the way, the morning after the evening I started taking the Lexapro, I had things happening: yawning until I thought I'd break my jaw because I couldn't control how wide my mouth opened (about 1 every 2 minutes), dizziness; on the second day, I woke up and couldn't go to work, I was so anxious; same with the next day-it took three days before I could leave the house. My doctor finally called back when I told him I took myself off of my 10mg, daily; I'd had no side-effects stopping the drug. He changed it to 5mg, daily. It made everything worse. Everything happened within two weeks. But, then again, that was just the way it effected me.

(To Jaide- What you said about Lexapro giving you horrible experiences-I think I know what you're talking about. Because it didn't effect his other patients like it did me, my doctor wouldn't call me back because he thought I was a hysterical female.) All I can say is: know what you're putting in your mouth. Don't take it unless you know everything it will do to you. Maybe you won't have problems; I know people who can't take Concerta (Ritalin), and yet, for me, it's a miracle-and, for me, no side-effects. I did have problems with Lexapro, and I wish I'd known more about it; my doctor hadn't told me anything when I asked about side-effects. Silly me-I didn't do research that one time because I just wanted to be the patient; I wanted him to do what I was paying him for, and be the doctor. Good luck, and I wish you well.

Actually out of the meds that I have taken Lexapro (10 mg) and Xanax (.25 mg) had the least side effects for me. I have had horrible experiences with Paxil, Effexor, and Xanax XR. But I still haven't found anything that is a fix.

Thank you for your postings...I havent had any change in my appetite since I have started the meds...I still eat just as much :) Also, I have started breaking out alot which isnt that great at all...but I talked to my doctor and he says that usually stops in time...I cant wait for that to happen because I feel like I'm 13 all over again!

Hello Nicole, Decreased appetite can be a side effect of the medication. Any change in appetite? Just keep tabs on it, any side effects should be reported to your Doctor. It could very well be just the water. Keep us posted. Susanne

Hi Nicole, I noticed the same thing. I drink a ton of water every day and I notice my rings are loose, clothes etc. I'm sure its the water. I also think I feel so much better now that I'm more active. Keep on drinking water!!!!!

I have been taking lexapro for about 4 weeks and I have started losing some weight. I drink alot of water everyday now since the meds make me really thisty. I was just wondering...is it the meds or all the water making me lose weight? I'm not losing signifigant weight or anything...its only something I notice. I went from 123-119 in the past month...I have a feeling its all the water I have been drinking cleansing out my system or something since I have never really been into drinking that much water. Any insight?

Hi Joek, Welcome. Before your girlfriend takes anything for heartburn she should consult with her Doctor or Pharmacist. Susanne
