Hey Shannon, What steps are you taking BEFORE you smoke? In other words, I think you should have a plan for when you are about to cave. It should start like this... Before I smoke, I must ____________ and __________ and _____________. Try to put three things in there that you must do before you smoke. They could be post here and wait for 10 replies, email a quit buddy (you still have my email, don't you?), call somebody who supports your quit and talk to them, IM a quit buddy (again, you know my IM address - it's the same as my email), read your reasons for quitting 5 times, etc... come up with some that will work for you and promise yourself that before you smoke, you MUST do 3 of these things. It has worked for me time and time again... by the time I'm done with the third one (and usually the first one because my first one is post and wait for 10 replies), I don't want to smoke anymore. So you should try something like that before you smoke. I'm here for you and I want to see you succeed! Come on back up on this quit wagon... it can be kinda bumpy, but it's sooooooooo worth the ride! Crave the Quit! Shannon, Welcome back! You've received some great advice already from your fellow quitters. I can only echo them. Take this slip and learn from it. Consider the contributing factors that led to it and take them into consideration while you plan this quit. Keep us posted. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Shannon, I am glad you are back. I remember you because you have the same name as my littlest daughter. Stick to the preparation plan (make sure you have you list of reasons why I quit) and don't waver from protecting that quit. N.O.P.E. I like Butterfly Swimmers idea a lot! 3 things I must do before I smoke! Here's mine: Before I smoke, I must climb Mt. Everest and build a battleship and pay back the national deficit! Okay - I think that rules out smoking for me!!!!! Seriously - welcome back Shannon (I love that name) - GOOD LUCK!!!! Having quit for a month prior...then you know how difficult it was to stop. Now, lets just go through that phase of quitting only one more time. The formula for success here is quite simply..preparation. You are either serious or you are fooling yourself. Make up your mind. Look at this challenge as doable and then break it down in simple small pieces. They are as elemental as just not smoking the next one. String about 119,000 of those together and you can do it and not ever consider smoking again. Lets go now. Preparation!
