BLOOD PRESSURE

I am wondering if any of you are on Effexor. Had my blood pressure taken about 2 months ago during my gyn visit. My pressure was 140/98. Never had a problem with my pressure. I read somewhere that Effexor increased blood pressure, but only at high doses (300 mgs or higher). I was only taking 75mgs. Spoke to my psych and he also stated that it was unlikely that such a low dose causes HPB. Well, he was wrong. I have been off the Effexor now for almost a month and my pressure is back to normal. As for obsessing, boy could I relate. I constantly monitored my pressure. I'm surprised it didn't have to be surgically removed from my arm. But all it did was increase my anxiety.

Me to me to. I bought this thing off eBay and it takes my pulse and my oxygen I check mine like ten to twenty times a day and mines almost always fast, what's up with that. I don't know but then again even when im relaxed it's my heart is up there in the 120's I don't get it. I'm now checking everyone€™s that comes over.... it's kind of funny it's like I€™m a nurse now, I check my mothers sisters friends even my daughters. DO YOU ALSO HAVE A FAST HEART RATE WITH IT???????????? IF SO WHAT IS IT?

Yes I was for two years, as it seemed my anxiety and preoccupation with my BP raised it. The saying once on BP med always on BP med isnt true. After my obession quit, and my bp was pretty much regulated for two years, my doctor started to taper my dosage, being seen twice a week, and blood pressure was normal, so he tapered some more, constant monitoring in his office, again normal, till I was off it completely, he still monitored it up to six months after being off of it completely. Currently my last visit being last month, BP still normal, and havent been on BP medication in at least 6-7 yrs.

Mica, Yes when I first starting having panic attacks, I was borderline hypertensive, well them telling me this, just made the attacks worse. I bought the Blood Pressure Cuff Kit, and became obessed with taking my BP all day long. I mean it drove my family crazy, pump, pump, pump, ssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh taking my readings over and over again and again, quite OCD there. I took my kit to work, kept it in my purse I never left without it. I would freak if I did. Honestly, I dont know how I stopped, but after a few years I did. Just letting you know, you arent alone.
