Just thinking of you today; and know that through the tears and the sadness will grow the quiet joy that you have won through. Wishing you peace of mind and surety of soul. Oh Monica, I'm so sorry you felt you had to go through this alone. I wish for you some peace in the coming year and I so know what you are going through. My husband died many years ago, and I went through much the same as you for many years after. My prayer for you is that you know in your heart that you are not alone and that we are all here for you. We do know what you are experiencing and we love you. We can help, if you let us. Know that although the urges will come more often, they will not be anywhere near as intense as the first week and you went through that with flying colors, so don't let the addiction lead you to believe that it will be more difficult or impossible now. OK? And your quit meter is as personal and unique as are you. Love and many hugs, Denise My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 69 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,089 Amount Saved: $517.5 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 3 Mins: 4 Seconds: 13

(((((Monica)))))! Honey, Take yourself a good long walk and just let it all out. You have been absolutely awesome in your quit and have been incredibly strong throughout! And dare I say, turning to an "old friend" in the darkest hour is pretty normal. But please don't ever forget, that friend never did any of us any good. Stay strong, Mon. You are one tough cookie and you will see better days! Monica - We will miss you while your pc is "in the shop". Please use this time to take care of you and your hubby. You have done so well....but those dark days are soooooooooooo hard. Just remember how much we care about you and that we will be here waiting for you when your pc comes back! It's just a small slip! No great deal! :) Continue your journey to full recovery from smoking addiction. I admire your effort and determination, Monica! :) Even myself, at 4 months, I'm still facing fleeting moments of craving ... I have crossed the river, from the land of smokers to the land of non-smokers, and have destroyed the bridge. However, that tricky nico-demon still runs after me ... :( That's why, in my case, I'm not in a hurry to throw away my NRT aids (inhaler & lozenges). I still need them occasionally, as the last line of defence, when the tempting to smoke becomes too strong to resist, especially during this festive season ... Cheers, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 121 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,218 Amount Saved: $605 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 15 Mins: 11 Seconds: 19

Monica, you've been so strong. At times i've wondered how you've pulled it off. You've been an inspiration to me and I'm sure a lot of other people here. I don't think you need to reset your meter, keep moving forward in your quit and maybe its time to see your doctor again and talk to them about how you're feeling. Wishing you a happier holiday season and all the best in the New Year.

Sending you a big hug, Monica. Don't sadden yourself about the slip. Learn from it, so that it doesn't happen again. Keep the Quit Meter as it is.
