Hi everyone,
You know it is now almost 21 days and I would like to extend a couple things that have helped me along the way, besides of course this great site. I quit cold turkey so it was not fun but here were my actions. Hope this helps.
Week 1 - Downloaded stop smoking hypnosis tracks. Took my breaks in
my car listening to music. Eating at subway everyday.
Week 2 - Stopped hypnosis, downloaded relaxing music like "Frank
sinatra, beethoven, mozart, etc." continued to eat subway
everyday. Still listening to music on breaks.
Week 3 - Moved from relaxing music to hard and moderate rock
like "Korn, Marylin Manson, Disturbed, Staind, Drowning
pool, and the beatles." Quit subway and am now bringing
a lunch. Still listening to music on breaks; however,
now I am sometimes bringing my mp3 player and walking for
some breaks.
The most important thing about quitting is to have a goal to keep you motivated. Some of you already know that I am a musician though that is not what I do for a living. My goal was to save money for studio time. That goal has been my main focus and what has kept me strong. You must believe in yourself and turn into those people that you see in movies. You know what I'm talking about, the guy or girl is a big loser and then they train and train and boom they are Zorro, or Electra, etc. Anyways, I guess the point I'm trying to make in all this ramble is "Just because your quitting cold turkey doesn't mean you shouldn't have a plan." For me I'm in sales and I have been trained in work and in college that in this game you have to think quick on your feet to survive. I like the fact that every week I'm changing it up. For me the patch, or the gum just doesn't work. So keep strong, this site is amazing and a big part of my success. I would like to thank you all so much.
