Smoking &Tobacco Use:
Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6 , B12 they contain , as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them , help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
I read this in a list about what Bananas can do. This was one of them.
When I first quit I craved Bananas. I never eat them befor and don't now. Go figure. Might help someone. Can't hurt.

Trailbum and Phil, I could see that. You crave bananas and you go bananas in the beginning. Either way, I read a big peice in the Toronto Star on the benefits of bananas. Help the quit, help your weight, help your blood pressure, etc. Guess what I'm buying this morning!
Cheers,
Jan

LOL
Life is crazy. My MIL (mother-in-law) has been told to lay of of the bananas because her potasium is too high (a sign of liver failure). She is 89. Every other day she calls requesting a loaf of white bread, six banans and 1/2 gallon of whole milk! It is a family joke. I do believe she will out-live us all!
