I'm only on Day 4 and I walk about once an hour -- I used to leave work to smoke; now I duck out to maintain what's left of my sanity. Lunchtime is nothing but walking. (Gotta walk off all the garbage I'm stuffing in my mouth all day!!!)

Supers fifty minute walk routine struck a chord with me. A lady friend had a bone density test last week, she is 56 years. She has been during aerobic exercises for about 30 years. Her doctor told her that she had some bone loss around her hips and that she needed to start walking thirty minutes per day and the bone would restore itself. The friend told her doctor about her daily exercise routine, by the way none of which incorporated a routine of walking, and the doctor replied that walking stimulates the hips and keeps the bone healthy. The doctor said walking gives a pounding to the hips and stimulates them.
Apparently walking is a very good substitute for smoking. We get several health benefits from walking and two of which: we are not smoking and two we build bone mass.
So get up, get up, get up and do five minute, ten minutes or longer walks several times a day.
You do A LOT of things right, Sparky!!! Like 17 days of not smoking :) Just a little rough patch...you'll pull thru!
Walking is excellent exercise and a great distraction!
