The feelings of a social outcast!!!

I like the way you said that smokers smell bad and you can't believe you used to smell like that. You know, in away I'm scared to get my sense of smell bad because I don't want to associate that rank odor with ME! Ya know!?! Dunedad, That shameful, sneaky, less-than behavior I was engaging in in order to get my fix helped push me into really wanting to quit. As a smoker, I knew I was as good as anyone else, but the treatment I received, the situations I found myself in, the things I would stoop to told me that I wasn't, not really! Having to sneak and hide while out in the world was damaging to my overall sense of self! I'm ready to leave all that behind! I'm feeling really good. My complexion is so nice, the color is back in my cheeks and the hubby says my eyes sparkle again (hubba hubba). I do feel much better physically. I find myself taking deep breaths for no apparent reason, and it feels great. I promise it does get better. The future is very bright for us Jaden. I'm really excited for both of us to be smoke free. We have so much to do and we can't be slowed down by a cancer stick! LOL, I'm sorry Jaden, I laughed out loud when you posted that you were sniffing your scarf...I find myself sniffing myself to make sure I still smell good.....I feel like a golden retriever with a new nose. I can smell so much now...some things I don't want to smell....but apparently, I like smelling my clothes! We definately smell better!!! Jaden, You are really doing so very well. I think you should reward yourself with the tall dark and hansome massager also...hubba hubba!! Let me know how it goes, I want to hear all about it. Isn't it great to know that we are not on this journey alone. LOL, I wouldn't go around sticking your face in people's hair...you may get arrested, then I'll have to send Duckie in to bail you out, and she will give you one of her stern looks. Your doing great on Day 8. One minute, one hour, one day. What ever it takes to beat this addiction. Protect your quit!!!! Jaden, You are doing really good!! Remember your reasons for the quit. It does get easier. This is my third day in a row that I have felt fantastic. It's just around the corner for you, you can make it! Jaden, I know how you feel. There is a thread that I wrote a few weeks back called "I'm doing ok...BUT"...read it, it might help. LOL...don't do it!! You could break a perfectly good frying pan. Your doing fantastic. Just remember, cravings are both withdrawl related and trigger related. See them for what they are, distract yourself and be creative with alternatives...the sky's the limit when it comes to creativity.
