mood swings

This is day # 25 for me and overall I'm doing pretty good, but what do I do about these damn mood swings? I feel like a child that just dosen't know what they want. I know there is no real solution except the passing of time, I just needed to complain for a minute. Thanks for listening. Best wishes to all. Okay, I have the same question. I read the prior responses, but it didn't fully address my concern. I am acting like I did when I was pregnant! I am the moodiest person alive!!! I am almost scary! And I become this way at the drop of a hat! Sometimes it passes, sometimes I just cry because I am so frustrated and don't have a clue what has gotten me all worked up. I know I was moody with my first quit, but after the first 30 days I was better. I can be quite plesant when I get home from work, then all of a sudden I am the hugest B*tch you could over come across. I nag at my husband for anything and everything. Then a little bit later, be all nice and loving like I didn't just make him fear for his life! LOL! Has it been long enough since I quit that I should not be near this bad, or do I need to talk to my doctor about some sort of mood stablizer? I sometime feel I am being so irrational. I need a punching bag! Jenga, mood swings can from a lot of things. Is it you wanting to smoke, if so own that feeling. As addicts we will have those deires and it will be some time for them do diappear. When we denie our feelings, for me, I get in whole lot of trouble. You did well, by coming here and expressing you feelings. You are doing great :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 45 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 454 Amount Saved: $135 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 3 Mins: 20 Seconds: 10

Jenga, try going into a quiet room, even if it is the bathroom. Have a seat and quietly breathe in nice slow deep breaths. Stay in there sitting in the same spot for 5 minutes. Eyes closed. Gently feelings in your heart.....mmmmmm feel better?

Well Jenga, From experience, try and keep your mouth shut when you are feeeling this way!HA! It keeps the "oh, I did not really mean that" phrase out of our vocabulary (as much as possible) anyway! Deep breaths are good, being by yourself with eyes closed, taking control of your mind in a positive way. We've allllll been there...come here and rant; get it all out! We know what you are feeling. Heres to better smoke free days! Stubz, Write a journal! Try and pinpoint what is causing this anger and frustration. Check with your Doctor to rule out anything medical and start using relaxation techniques to relieve you of any added or extra stress. Going to bed relaxed and early can help you start the day refreshed :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
