Mr. Ed May I ask, when did you know you hit your turning point? By the way, as usual great post. I think my turning point came after the first week. But I had been a successful quitter a long time ago, and already knew the worst part of the battle was over (Hell week without one cigarett). auntdeb My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 68 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,435 Amount Saved: $323 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 10 Mins: 51 Seconds: 0

Great post Mr. Ed - I don't exactly remember any Aha moment when I hit the turning point but I do know that, at some point, smoking stopped being considered as an option when tough times arrived. :) I will never smoke again, I know. But I am still waiting for that turning point. I am still waiting for when I no longer think about smoking. I realize it is mostly nostalgia and smoking memories that I will NEVER act on....but I want to "be" a non-smoker, without thought.... Congratulations to those that no longer 'think' about it! If you trawl through a lot of old posts you will come across a recurring theme which you will see in some shape or form time and time again. It's when a quitter stops saying 'I don't know if I can do this any longer...' and instead says 'I am finding this difficult / I am really grumpy today / I can't concentrate / I am putting on weight (take your pick)... BUT I KNOW THAT I WON'T SMOKE' This is the turning point - the time when you no longer doubt your ability to quit. It can happen quite early in your quit and once you feel this way, you are on the road to victory. Eventually you will reach the stage of the journey where you 'know that you won't smoke' because you simply have no desire to anymore. I look forward to you joining me there.. Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 390 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,714 Amount Saved: 2925 Life Gained: Days: 63 Hrs: 15 Mins: 11 Seconds: 2

LouLou, I probably started feeling like that after about 6 weeks. It took me about 9-10 months before I totally lost the desire to smoke and .. it is so worth it!
