Get up. Go and do something. Take a walk. Take a swim. Take an exercise class. Amaze yourself with the energy and lung capacity (improving daily) that you didn't have before and be so busy quitting thoughts can't get into your head. This is a new start for you - make it a great one. Hi Susie, I agree with all above. Do something. Make yourself as busy as a bee and clean your house, take showers and go for a walk. You have way more time now that you don't smoke. Use that time and don't get bored. Stay busy. Susie, Congrats on day 6! Why can't you sit and wait it out? Nothing wrong with that. You may want to sit with a quiet distraction, may help it go away quicker if you're not focused on it entirely. Keep persevering! Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hello everyone. It's day 6 and I am still hanging in there. Keep thinking about all of the ex smokers out there who have come through this. It's really beginning to dawn that this is a one day at a time thing. Also it's for ever. That's a hard concept. My main problem is that I find it hard to do things. Feel as though I just want to sit around and wait it out? Stupid!! Of course life goes on and that's just not practical. Anyway today is not too bad. Still thinking about the little monsters but NOT in a favourable way. Love to all....keep paddling the canoe. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/31/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 156 Amount Saved: 37.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 19 Seconds: 13

Keep paddling the canoe, lol. That's cute, I've never heard that one before. Yes, find something to do! Pick up a book you've wanted to read forever(War and peace will DEFINITELY give you something to get thru the craves :) ); or how about a movie? OR cleaning your house like osmeone said. Or takin care of your garden. THe first week is fun fun fun and you got thru that(be proud of yourself :) it's tough...) and just don't give in. take care!
