hi barbara, when you come to this page, scroll down and look at, help with medications(zoloft) by paulina. I wrote in that one and other people did too. My advice would be try it, just keep your doctor posted on everything. I had very little side effects, just be patient, it took 2 months for it to kick in with me. With other people it takes 2 weeks. I am on 100mg now because I thought the 50mg wasn't working. My anxiety got a little worse in the begging, thats when I would take a xanax. take care and good luck, be sure to check out paulinas

I don't know what to think anymore. I get so fustrated because here I am trying my hardest and succeed at being out there for hours but the feelings the next day just bum me out. I get discouraged by how my body feels. I guess I do get tensed and worried about trying it again especially after feeling like that a day or two after. I feel great and am excited about being able to get out. All that day I am on a high about being able to get out and last that long. It's just the tiredness, anxiousness and jitterness I feel the day after. But I am real happy that I am able to get out little by little. It feels great!! I try not to get discouraged. I just tell myself that it's my body responding to all the excitement!!! :)

For me no not necessarily. For instance, I had a good yesterday, drove across town with my daughter (she can drive, so I knew I had a back up). But little things, from the day being so warm and beautiful, her with me, I feel so good on those days, I could keep going on around the rest of town. My the next, maybe the day will be rainy, dreary, it almost dictates my mood. Plus other stressors, tonight my son is spending the night with a friend and my daughter will be gone also. My husband works 3rd shift, so I will be totally alone, something I have being working on, so I already am worried about just accomplishing that task tonight, to even think about other steps. Its like too much overload too soon. I can only do it one at a time, this way I feel like I have to try to take on two steps at once, so my tension, nervousness, and worrisome thoughts are in my mind. Trish

Your body releases adrenaline in tough situations. The body handles an adrenaline rush by resting afterwards to replenish itself. That letdown or depleted feeling is natural. Just be sure to practice your box breathing exercises and to reward yourself at the end of your accomplishment. Take the time to congratulate yourself before you begin worrying again. (And post in the Success Story forum when you accomplish something.) After you do it once, do you immediately get tense and worry if you will be able to do it again, for instance?

Barbara, I get the same way. One day I will be able to drive across town,(but having somebody with me), or a short distance by myself. Then the next day, Im wound up and can't do it. I think I get more bummed out, especially when somebody says," well you just did it yesterday, I dont understand why you cant do it again." I think until we do the baby steps repeatively, with no anxiety whatsoever, increasing those comfort zones, then we can move on to repeative bigger steps. I still if I feel up to it, do try, and I do feel great too, but if I feel wound up the next I wont, I will work on the baby step to at least feel I have kept some small exposure therapy still in place, however small. I would like some advice myself on keeping those positive thoughts going, and be able to just do it,anxious or not. Alas, easier said than done. Trish

Why is it that every time I get out and do some exposure work, while working on it I am great and feel like I can do anything. Then the next day or two days later, I feel so sick, tired and drained out. My body feels like it hurts all over. I feel anxious and nervous and just plain sick. I am trying my hardest to work on getting out but this doesn't help. Any advice???
