Carlos, it is usually an ongoing treatment with a psychologist, counselor or psychiatrist. Some family doctors may be trained in it also, but it helps to see someone who you can talk to about it, as well as get medication if that is what you and the professional choose. Everyone responds differently and in different time frames. It is very important to understand that you are not alone and their are millions of other people who have similar symptoms to yours. Like I said before, it is also extremely important to be properly diagnosed by a professional doctor. They will be able to guide you with what treatment plan is best for your situation. And always, educate yourself in whatever diagnosis they give you. I wish you the best! Let me know what the doc says. :)

You're welcome, Carlos! Sounds like you did a good thing dumping that doc! Find yourself someone who specializes in social anxiety disorder. There are good ones out there. You may also want to look it up on the internet and see if you think it relates to your symptoms. Please let me know how you are doing! :)

Carlos, it sounds like you have social anxiety disorder and shyness. All that we have...panic disorder, agoraphobia, depression, generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder are interrelated. Many of suffer from more than one of the above. I am not a doctor, so please make sure that you talk to a professional about this. There is help out there! Don't be embarrassed. You are not alone. :)
