OK I didn't get angry I asked him why and we talked and hes recommitted to his quit. He felt terrible, but told him I was proud of him either way. He's doin fine now... bless him. I guess my initial reacyion was shock... I get that this is my quit and that is his quit. We are all back on track now.., Thanks for the advice. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hubby had the day off work today and he has been particularly irritable. I just went downstairs to the basement looking for him after I took a nap and he was sitting down there smoking. I said "Your smoking??" and he just looked at me. I want to be supportive but I feel quite angry that he didn't try to talk to me first. I guess I'm disappointed too. What should I do?? I don't want to yell or make him feel horrible but I am quite peeved. He's still downstairs now... Hi Stressbessy, Sorry I missed your post the other day. Work has been crazy. Be so proud of yourself for two things. One not slapping him and two not joining him. Way to go. I am so glad that his has recommitted to quitting. Tell him that you would rather go to Italy with him then with me :) (ha ha ha My kids and husband would not survive a week without me. I am the only one who knows how to cook :) ) Have a great weekend. You are almost out of heck week. Someone else is going throught he exact same thing. I can repeat the advise given to her in that sometimes our quit buddies don't make it, but that does not reflect on you. I would definantly tell him to smoke outside. Stressybessy, Glad to hear it! Remember a slip can be a learning experience or it can lead to relapse. The choice is ultimately his. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Danni, I can only answer if it was me..... You probably couldn't beat him up anymore than he already is to himself... I am sure he is not proud. Remember this is his battle. Yours is yours/his is his. I would offer him a shoulder to crab at and remind him that one slip does not a smoker make. If he would like to continue the quit talk about coping mechanisms for the next time he feels that panic. My vote is no hubby bashing My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 312 Amount Saved: $61.8 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 13 Mins: 29 Seconds: 51
