The Magic Ship Thread

Aah. I am enjoying all the chocolates! Must be why I feel so good. I'll have to go dream about new tunes for tomorrow - Chantix do your stuff (please - I think I'm the only one who hasn't really had the dreams!) I'll prob be on a bit tomorrow - I think my little one will be home sick from school. But she's only 5 and can't read yet ... so I can check in with her around! Do you think this thread is getting too long? Will they shut it down? We may need to start a new one! LOL We're getting popular! Pat, you put that all so nicely. And it's true. I usu check in here before I go out while I'm gearing up for another smoke free day - and the smiles & laughs it generates help bolster my strength to carry on. Reminds me of a fitting Styx song, "I'm sailing away, set an open course for the open sea Cause I've got to be free, free to face the life that's ahead of me On board I'm the captain (that's you mr. Magic!) so climb aboard We'll (that's all of us) search for tomorrow on every shore And we'll try, oh lord, we'll try, to carry on... Come Sail away, Come sail away, come sail away with me" And here we all are sailing on to the land of quit. My days plans were upended b/c little one is still sick, and the craves I thought were coming on haven't really. I think by recognizing the signs and talking about it to DH and here, the feelings diffused. Hooray! Now, how about some nice salad with grilled shrimp for lunch today - healthy AND yummy! And JT can you make some low-fat goodies - hey can you invent good, soft choc chip cookies that won't put on weight? Have a good sail today, fellow quitters! Sounds like everyone is really starting to relax and get more comfortable in their quits! I'm bracing myself for the next big crave - they seem to hit me every 3 or 4 days. But this time I'll be prepared and I've got this great crew to help give me a boost if I need it. Can't wait to lie out by the pool tomorrow (this ship does have one, right?) For tonight, lets see.... Lets adjust some lyrics from ABBA. "Waterloo, I was defeating you all the war. Waterloo, promise to LEAVE you forever more Waterloo, I'm GONNA escape CAUSE I WANTED TO, Waterloo, finally facing my waterloo." Good morning to all. Don't know if any of you are around now... such is the life of a SAHM! I work a ton, but it's volunteer stuff and don't pay (me) a dime! (I'm running a big fundraising basket auction for the kids elementary school and its in just over a month - usu we have over 200 baskets!) Stuck inside today since the little one is sick, poor thing is just laying like a lump on the couch with a fever, slight cough & hoarse voice. But incredibly I feel NO desire to smoke at all today, hooray! So another tune for today, hmmm.... Just a fun one today... "Oh, Shake it up baby now, shake it up baby, Twist & Shout..." Freemom now dances off to burn off the calories from all that chocolate so she can have some more tonight! Have a great day everyone. Congrats again Rainie on 2 weeks! Hi all. Off to another bright and clear day (in the skies and in our lungs!) Cravings again today, but much easier to brush them off - maybe the laughs I get on the ship help! Welcome aboard JC - this is a fun ship, so relax and pull up a lounge chair by the pool. Nice tranquil music for lounging to. But how about something upbeat so we can dance and burn up some calories.... "I made it through the wilderness, somehow I made it through. Didn't know how lost I was until I QUIT you I was beat, incomplete. I was had, I was sad and blue. But you made me feel, yes you made me feel shiny & new ... Like a NON-SMOKER" (Apologies to Madonna -I needed to fix those lines for us!)

Rainie - That spa time sounds great. I could use a mani/pedi! Oh and Faith I will definitely take some of that chocolate (make mine a double, in fact!) Thanks for the support.

I'm around, just having a rougher day today. Some days have been so easy and others.... it's just like my mind and body are being taken over by a (nico)demon! I feel like I'm back in control again, so here I am. I had an hour between lunch and picking up the kids so I came home, popped on here a bit then went upstairs to lie down for a bit. Wouldn't you know it - I forgot to set an alarm and was 20 minutes late to pick up the kids!!! Whoops. I think I need to lounge by the pool this afternoon. I assume that on the magic ship our bathing suits always look great on us! Next song up : "Since you've been gone, I can breathe for the first time. I'm so moving on, yeah yeah. Thanks to you now I get, I get what I want. Since you've been gone."

Freemom checking in! I have to fight for the computer on the weekends and some afternoons - my kids (5&8) and DH hog it plus can't really hit this site around the kids as they didn't know about my habit to begin with! Pat - maybe everyone is prepping for Superbowl parties? Me, I'll prob be checking in during the game - don't care for football, just like the commercials & half-time show. As an almost 1 week reward, DH made me a lobster dinner last night! Yum. Catch of the day on the ship - lobsters for all! (Mr. Magic - will you cook them for us?) Anyway, music for today ... 2 Selections - 1st for inspiration and the 2nd just for fun! "At first I was afraid I was petrified, kept thinking I could never live without you by my side. But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong and I grew strong and I learned how to get along ... ... Oh now, go! Walk out that door. Just turn around now because your not welcome anymore.... Oh no not I, I will survive..." (Gloria Gaynor, I will Survive) "I'm going to soak up the sun, gonna tell everyone to lighten up. I'm going to soak up the sun, got my 45 on so I can rock on" (Sheryl Crow, Soak up the Sun) Enjoy the music and stay strong everyone! Hi. I'm new to posting, but I've been reading and following your successes since I too started Chantix around the same time - quit a bit later due to panic but am on track now. You have all been great inspirations. Anyway, I'm ready to join the ship and I have a song for today. Cher's "Strong Enough". "Now I'm strong enough to live without you Strong enough, now I've quit crying long enough, now I'm strong enough to know - you've got to go" My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 54 Amount Saved: $16.32 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0
