Ride the wave, today is a new day and you are still protecting your quit. A few mood swings are expected.... Hang in there! Thanks you guys...Well Lady...If you ate worms and you made it, then I guess I will too...(You know how much I admire you) N2K - I read your post and there's lots of good advice in there. I should have set my limits and asked if we could have the meeting another time....and the work WILL get done. I am proud that I dealt with stress without smoking (positive thinking?) and I'm going to try a new 7 a.m. class at the gym tomorrow (exercise)....I'm just not sure if tootsie pops count as eating healthy.....maybe need to do a little more work. Danielle - Thanks for consistently being supportive, positive and offering great advice during this quit Lynne - I am so impressed with you. 3 weeks into your quit and you are a great support already. Thanks I will put the worms away for another day......... Nobody likes me...everybody hates me....I think I'll eat some worms! What is going on with me today?....I was mad at everyone at everything...I was so miserable at work that I apologized to all my coworkers. I was mad because they rebooked a staff meeting and I needed the time to get caught up at work. I was mad because I need a holiday....because I am so busy but I can't take a holiday because I have too much work to do. I'm pretty sure I was mad at the guy who made a left hand turn in front of me. I just gave my hubby the boot from this room while I type. In short, nobody can do anything right! I know that smoking was only a short-term relief and that it did nothing to make the problems go away. I just really need to learn some new ways to cope with stress and to reward myself/relax at the end of a bad day. I guess this is ANOTHER learning curve...........but boy....I just want to coast....no more learning curves.........please! Windy, Aren't those types of days frustrating! Arrggghh! Come on Windy, let it out! Ok, when you were a smoker, you probably would of have one if not a few in between these daily stresses. Now that you've quit, do you still take those breaks to take a few deep breaths? Again it's about changing your old routine. Take that 5 minute break but instead of cigarette, try a small snack, some water, cup of coffee or just a few minutes in a quiet place. At the end of a hard day such as this one, if you're still feeling tense proceed in either method: get up and get moving or relax. Some members find a walk helpful, others a bubble bath. Choose the method that is best for you. Lastly, you should get a reward for staying smoke free and to help lift your mood. Hope this helps. Hang in there, just like all the other learning curves, you overcome this one! Cheering you on! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Windy~ this is everything I learned about how to cope (without the cigarette) while Stressed Out? All the best~ 2 My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 451 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,940 Amount Saved: $2255 Life Gained: Days: 42 Hrs: 21 Mins: 15 Seconds: 25

Ok Windy. You let all that out. Now let's find some good stuff here. Now you have time to do what???? What do you like to do to relax? Read? Listen to Music? Watch TV? How about just going for a quick walk. Get out and do something. Don't just sit there agonizing over how you are feeling. Get up and get moving. Use that energy. Put a smile on your face and go for a walk. Hold your head high while you do it too because while you may be stressed, you are still smoke free! YAaaaaaaaaaa Hooooooooooo!!!!! You are awesome! I almost died of laughter when I saw your post because I remember saying exactly the same thing! (not laughing at you, laughing with you as in been there done that kind of thing) Hang in there girl. You are doing an awesome job!
